Congress is at a stalemate over raising the federal debt ceiling, and Americans need to pressure their elected representatives to work out a compromise that will avoid a potentially devastating default, President Barack Obama told the nation Monday night.

    • Mr. President - Since the DC servers are down, I will tell you this here: These people are completely detached from reality, and when people turn down things they were demanding earlier this year, the time for compromise is past.

Just raise the debt ceiling by executive order. If they had to go to court to defend the position that it's ok for the nation to default, they would look really stupid in front of someone who could do something about it.

Then, since they don't seem to want it bad enough, instead of cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, & so on, use your next executive order to create a new WPA - create the jobs they say they want, but that their tax-hating policies would never create.
