Qaddafi son Saif unexpectedly in the streets of Tripoli on Monday evening

On Monday evening, Qaddafi's son Saif al Islam was seen on Tripoli streets, shaking hands of supporters and smiling. This is in contradiction to reports yesterday, whereby the head of the Libyan Transitional Council had confirmed that Saif was under house arrest, pending transfer to the Hague on charges of crimes against humanity.

Interestingly, Said was also heard speaking to cameras for al-Jazeera: he announced that everything was really 'fine' and that he was going on a tour of the country very shortly. He also said that NATO had been jamming all of their communications, and spreading 'rumors' about his arrest, and his brother's surrender. He said that his loyalists were still going to go after the 'rats'.

According to another report from Reuters, Saif also assured onlookers that his father was safe and in Tripoli.
