Mexico rejects ‘peace’ deal with cartels

The Mexican government has rejected any and all peace deals with the drug cartels. Interior Minister Fernando Gomez Mont said "The federal government does not ever dialogue, does not negotiate, does not reach deals with any criminal organization; There is no other alternative for their members but to submit to the law." The statement came after the drug cartels reached out and said they respected Mexican President Felipe Calderon and want to have peace. Additionally, a rash of brutal murders involving the torture of 12 Mexican federal agents was uncovered on Wednesday.

Mexico is one of two nations most likely to collapse within the year as reported by the National Intelligence estimate.

    • That's good for them but the violence won't stop unless the high demand for drugs in the US goes down, and the only way that'll happen is if they legalise it, or everyone stops doing drugs.... like that'll happen any time soon.
