My personal experience with a dishonest publisher

I'm going to tell the story began in a spring morning two years ago when I decided to go to a well-know publisher in my Region in order to present my photographic work making in Sicily during the period of two years (2008-2009).
I was surprised to be greeted so warmly as not to seem true (in fact I discovered after the trick). I received immediately a job offer !
I could scarcely believe my eyes ! My train trip to home was incredible. I had the adrenaline flowing inside me, impetuous. My heart was pounding, my eyes were wide open to the future now. My future!
The second meeting was more productive, I even was offered a contract for two books!
In May and June I worked night and day to complete the text portion that would have accompanied my shots,just in time to deliver all the works to the publisher.
In July 2009 i signed my agreement !
Incredible, someone recognized my work, I should not pay for the pubblishing and i would earn a percentage of sales!
It certainly was not the best contract in the world but it was my contract.
In the following weeks the many meetings and phone calls succeeded till the delivery of the work to the publisher were replaced by the silences and false absences.
I did't receive any response for many many weeks!
But i am a professional author and approaching the pubblishing date, as agreed with the editor during our last meeting, i started to promote the book.
Maybe you understand yourselves, but the book was never published...
So you could imagine tha i become depressed !
During the last two years the publisher has not responded to phone calls, e-mail, the registered letters about the rescission of the contract and the return of all original book content.
To date, the publisher has my book in his hand and many of my shots made in Sicily at that time.
Luckily I still have the original negatives !
I wanted to tell you this story to warn of false cultural prophets, false pubblisher and curators.
This one and many other stories we will teel you in the coming months.
