For the first time ever, the Food and Drug Administration has decided to approve the generic form of the blockbuster drug Wellbutrin XL. Wellbutrin is actually Bupropion which was repackaged as Zyban by the manufacturer after it was accidentally discovered that Wellbutrin treatments decreased cigarette and nicotine cravings in people suffering from depression. The medication was repackaged by Glaxo-Smith-Kline as Zyban as an aid to stop smoking.
