A patient's belief that a drug will not work can become a self fulfilling prophecy, according to researchers.They showed the benefits of painkillers could be boosted or completely wiped out by manipulating expectations.

    • This is so true, the more angry my wife gets the less pain killers work on her and that's scary because she is a cook/chef lady and she already scares me enough. She'll burn her hand or something then be even angrier cause she is in pain and I'm all nice, and she is like piss of you jerk, then the next day she is happy again I'm all like, PHEW!
