Secret Daft Punk After Parties?!?!

For those lucky enough to score Daft Punk tickets for their huge tour this summer, word is that there might be some secret afterparties thrown by Ed Banger Records, who some might call the new Daft Punk. Which would mean they're the new-new-French-retro-disco-house guys cool enough for people who don't usually like dance music. Anyway, this type of thing has happened before so stay tuned...

  • Daft Punk = pure genius... Yes, the French can make good music. In reference to "Khsing" aka Kai's comments, I believe the founder and head of Ed Banger Records, is DP's long time manager. He's cultivated a second coming of those influenced by DP, even though DP has no direct connection to Ed Banger. I'll be at the DP show, that's for Daft sure. Let us not forget their now legendary performance at Coachella in '06.

  • yaman - there is no other act i would rather see live. i saw them at creamfields in the uk, in about 98 or so, so im looking forward to seeing 10 years of evolution. check out roule records and trankilou. bbc did a night called the essential mix from mid nineties til recently, and daft punk dropped the best set i've ever heard. the 'daftpunkathon' as me and my mates coined it, is the Keyser Soze of mixtapes - 10 years old and still more fresh than anything out there... ohhh the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up. i love daft punk... even got a tattoo on my back! just kidding... no, really! no, for real now, im kidding... eh?

  • btw - i too am going to the berkely show - arrive from mexico on the red eye to la that day, drive from la to sf on no sleep, straight to the party... did somebody say 'sparks?' it goes without saying that if anybody hears about said afterparty, and doesnt tell me ill go punk on your daft ass...
