The issue here is not forgiveness, which is good, or justice, which may or may not be served by the pardon; but rather the issue is hypocrisy. I feel that this is another example of say one thing while doing another. Look at the original statements out of the white house, that anybody involved in the leak would be fired. They were adamant about punishing this person right up to the point it was one of their own. Then he was pardoned. Hypocrisy, coupled with recent news of incessant invocation of executive privledge, and you a have a less informed public with leaders who are unaccountable. Its the making of monarchy.

let's see, the responses are basically:

-Libby wasn't the actual leaker, it was Armitage
-It wasn't a crime in the first place
-Clinton did it first (pardoning, obstruction, etc.)
    -Hey, look! A terrorist!

nice quote from the article: "My gut tells me that, which my head tells as well, is that: When we find a credible threat, we'll share it with you." Good to see his gut and head are telling him the same thing...

2008 can't come soon enough. Past presidents have pardoned. This one seems to think the laws just don't apply to him, just in general. It makes me sick to my stomach.

This is one of the most ridiculous political situations we've seen from this administration (and that's really saying something). Forget the pardon/commutation for a minute - isn't the leak itself a matter of national security and possibly treason?
