Thank goodness. I miss the traditional Pac-10/Big-10 Rose Bowl...and the BCS is a joke. Maybe this will be what finally drives a playoff system (they really should keep the bowls and use those as part of the playoffs...and have the tourney culminate with a championship game a la the Super Bowl)

Right. that is the way to go... You still have the bowl games so that people can get excited about them and the tradition lives on. However you GOTTA have a tournament. Just have to. So the good idea is to take off a non-conference bs game from the regular season, use the bowl game as the first round of the playoffs and then add one championship game to the end of the season. So in the end you only have to add one game onto the schedule. This should help satisfy those neanderthals that contest a playoff system by saying "its too many games, players could get hurt." Keeping the bowl games satisfies the tradionalists leaving only the stubborn, blind, deaf, numb few to contest the idea of a playoff system. Faithfully - ar

The problem with a playoff is it will keep studious players away from the classroom ... i mean ... its no problem for ucla, notre dame, etc .. but USC players would always be stuck playing until the last game and miss out on their first priority ... studying !
