There may be better ways to make a point but I sure did smile when I read this story.
I don't even wanna feel sorry for him. He doesn't care about killing me in my normal sized car. He doesn't care that being behind him is like being behind a billboard. Not to mention the environment. So to heck with him!

Sounds like a bad case of EcoSnobery. But what are you doing being 32, living at home with your mother and buying a $38,000 H2???

I think you can add chinstrap beard to his list of egregious errors. That and the Chargers jersey in the Northwest, for shame!

Wow. How judgemental we are here at Current :-) Is buying a Hummer in todays age self-absorbed? Yes. Do we have people in this company that likely drive vehicles just as fuel inefficient and bought more for the image than the practicality? Of course. Personally I have not been a fan of these "image" based people for a long time and it's not my M.O. to be flashy, but I don't condone the actions taken against him fully either. I do believe that mob mentality/justice is going to become more of a norm in a country where it's government/businesses/and law enforcement officials have shown zero real leadership and direction on all major issues. Are legal system is broke, and the government is in a stagnant funk. Sometimes you gotta just go do it yourself.

GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE - the fumes from your Volvo's tailpipe smell just as sweet to my pedestrian ass.

The least fuel efficient SUV on the road:

    Mercedes-Benz G 55 AMG 11/13, Porsche Cayenne Turbo SUV: 13 mpg/18 mpg, Mercedes-Benz R500 SUV 13/18, Nissan Titan 4WD 13/18, Nissan Armada 13, and the Land Rover LR3 SE (V8), 13 mpg.Volkswagen Touareg SUV: 14 mpg/18 mpg, Audi Q7 SUV*: 14 mpg/19 mpg, Infiniti FX45 SUV: 14 mpg/18 mpg, Infiniti QX SUV: 13 mpg/18 mpg, Lexus LX SUV: 13 mpg/18 mpg, Toyota Land Cruiser SUV: 13 mpg/18 mpg

Hummer more fuel efficient than sport sedans:

    BMW M5 & M6 (12/18), Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG and CL600 sedans (13/19), Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG sedan: 13 mpg/19 mpg, Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG convertible: 14 mpg/19 mpg, Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG: 13 mpg/20 mpg, Mercedes-Benz SL600 convertibles: 13 mpg/19 mpg, Mercedes-Benz S600 sedan: 13 mpg/19 mpg,

Why then is Hummer a Target?

The 2007 H3 gets an official EPA Rating of 15/20 MPG. The H3 will get 14/18 with the new 2008 ratings and a 7 of 10 Air Pollution Score - all MPG scores went down with the 2008 rating system.

This is really an issue about economic class - Hummer (14/20) driver's are firemen and BMW M5 (12/18) drivers are Lawyers. Where is the anger and protests against BMW, the anger at Audi AWD sedans, Mercedes-Benz, or the Toyota trucks?

I enjoy watching the Hummer outrage as it is a great way to spot bigots.

Any baller that can afford a Hummer should have enough cash for a new set of tires..

    Keep it Reel.

Reely(sp)? That is the same logic of an arson. And what of the tens of millions of slashed tires when everyone that has enough to buy a car has their tires constantly slashed - can we put those in a dump in your neighborhood? What about anyone that can afford a bike? Lot of justified targets in a "Keep it Reel" world. If you have a job others can destroy your property - because you can afford to replace it. What a wonderful world to live in.

I think there is a little bit of a difference between someone that drives a hummer getting the tires slashed a setting a building on fire.

I don't have the any pity for someone that spends in the range of 55 grand for an automobile that gets 8 miles to the gallon especially a hummer.

    Keep it Reel!

The average Hummer costs less than 32 K and gets 20 mpg hwy or 16.5 mpg combined.

Compare that to any AWD truck or sport sedan and you find that you have one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in its class. Yes, that beats several sports sedans by BMW, Audi, and Mercedes! An AWD truck that gets better mileage than a sports sedan - a truck.

It is a class war and has nothing to do with Hummer.

Again, I enjoy watching the Hummer outrage as it is a great way to spot bigots.
