I grew up believing that the Encyclopaedia Britannica was truly beyond reproach. When I was a teenager, my heroes on the ground were US Suppreme Court Justices (how little I knew!) and Mortimer Adler, who remains an inspiration. Oh to find that his work is less than perfect. Wait - actually, it dooes not change much about the spectacular contribution of Mr Adler, but it does teach us that there are no secondary "definitive" sources, except maybe Wikipedia - LOL

..and in the context of "demonstrating" how inaccurate Wikipedia must be, to boot.... Sorry for posting to my own blog - seems like an etiquette gaffe, but then again, copying that much text would also not really work...
