  • This is an amazing story, amazingly told. And a fond memory in a way - it was the first piece I saw from my future friends Mariana van Zeller and Darren Foster. (Awwww.)

  • I've always liked train travel and been interested in stories about hobos hopping on freight trains. But I've never seen anything like this and can't imagine what these immigrants have to endure, traveling this way for a month or more.
  • This is an incredible story. Very touching that the shelter was started and there are regular people willing to take care of people in need.

  • thanks mariana and team.
your style of film making is so inspiring to me. you focus the something truly important, and that is our humanity. with more pods like this, i know current can bring about a positive change in our world. you help us see that all people are the same in their hearts, they want to feel free, they want to support and love their families and they want to have a chance to pursue their dreams.
i have a tiny crush on you, mariana. i love your work.

  • People don't leave the country of their birth and travel like this unless they are desparate. What we have to ask is what is causing a person to risk life and limb to leave.
Why are the jobs drying up in countries that have resources such as theirs?
If we don't address these issues, surely one day it will be us.
    Thank you Mariana.

  • I recall seeing this pod in 2k5, it was just as amazing then as it is today. I wonder what ever happened to the ones who actually managed to make it into the United States.

  • Just like every video in vanguard this is a great video covering almost every coner of the topic. It just sucks that it is covering a topic that is a very bad thing. Its rough seeing so many people being mutalated over the effort of bettering their lives. One thing I would have liked to hear more about is how many stops and exactly what takes place while traveling up to the boarder. For instance about how many times does the train stop or how the immigrants are found by the deportion officers in mexico. I would also like to hear more about the way the people are jumped by gangs.

  • INCREDIBLE video! Truly shows the hardships many go through just for a little piece of that American Dream.

Thoughts and prayers to all those just wanting a better life for themselves and their family. God speed.
