I think this is such a great idea. Wish we had some Living Libraries here in the US. Which "book" would you check out?

We found out about this Library while reading an article on a flight to Lisbon (my hometown). We called the library soon after we landed and a few weeks later we were on our way to Malmo, Sweden to do a story about this fantastic project. The experience turned out to be even better than what we expected.

Pretty interesting. Swedes prove that they are still ahead of the curve.

The human books we spoke to told us they signed up for this because they wanted to tell their story. Most of them have been victims of discrimination and prejudice all their lives and they felt that this was their opportunity to build a bridge between them and the world. A chance to get people to understand and/or know them a little. As Sara Lund (the transvestite) often said, the underlying cause of prejudice is ignorance.
