World Series of Video GamesNYT: CBS, the august home of the Masters and March Madness, will become the first broadcast network in the United States to cover a video game tournament as a sporting event.

This sort of thing happens here in the States as well, but it's just insane in South Korea. it seems like everyone has access to superfast broadband pipes (MUCH faster than we're used to here in the US) so the pool of potential e-sports candidates is big. E-sports is also big because South Korea, in an effort to keep out American and Japanese influence, had long banned American movies and Japanese video games. So the kids turned to pc games (albeit an American one, Warcraft).
