Orquesta Tipica plays tango music on a street in Buenos Aires. When a police officer arrives on the scene to break up the party, the audience rises up against the law to preserve the culture in their town.

Nice concept, but the argumentative guys''s rant
lasted a bit too long. Entertaining! -
I just started watching Current TV and I love it!! I tell everyone I know to watch. You give me hope for the world. We "older" people need to be reminded that the young people of the world ARE capable and working toward making this planet and it''s people a better place. Thank you.

people power news on people-powered TV! how could this be anything but splendid?
the argumentative guy''s rant is brilliant -- it totally cracked the policeman. but the best part is, of course, the old woman who waddles up with the cowbell and calls him an asshole. -
I love this pod because there's straight up an argument over musical censorship...and the community steps up! I wonder the same thing would've happened on the streets of America?

How about more Orquesta Tipica???

hay pelotudos en todos lados, con gorra o sin gorra
se asustó el cana! ja!
:-D -
I loved this. It brought tears of joy. I love the old woman! I love what the man says about how certain music is speaking poorly to our youth, and that they have lost culture. We need to keep tradition and family ALIVE, especially in music.

Great pod. As in most other countries, the police claims to just be enforcing the law, and alleges nothing against the negative consequences of its application.
I like how the cop asks the guy in the audience whether he heard him say he was against culture and for the low-class commercial music.
Of course he didn't say so, but its actions have that consequence.
I'm sure deep inside the officer agrees with the musicians and the crowd, but he is just another tool of the system.
Que viva el tango, carajo! -
those people should ALL be locked up for obstruction of JUSTICE! LMFAO!
Especially the little old lady that called that fine upstanding representative of authority an asshole. LOL
ALL LAWS ARE GOOD! PEOPLE THAT OPPOSE THEM ARE BAD CRIMINALS...TERRORISTS!! MMMkay?!
And no...that sort of civil dissent would NOT happen in the US because the riot cops would've showed up and given them people a what for...
All sarcasm aside...great pod! -
eff the PO-lice. obstruction of sidewalks? I loved how the one lady was like "theres raping and kidnapping on the corner, go over there."
stupid meddling cops.
loved the feel of the community-

i am from NYC originally, lived in Oklahoma for 7 years, went to college in upstate NY and now live in Burlington, VT. I have spent many summers overseas including some in Ecuador. I like Cumbia, however, the argumentative guy's opinion is very common there. If we take his argument and apply it to the United States, it wouldn't be cumbia, but hiphop. I grew up on it, but let's face it...today's hiphop is lacking and that guy's argument i've heard from many here in the U.S. about ruining kids. Most of the guys i know that love hiphop really don't respect women and have a distorted view about how the world works. Cumbia is mild by comparison
