To escape the discrimination of being gay, Cory moved to Los Angeles from his conservative hometown. Now, he truly feels at home and able to be himself.

great pod Derrick. I'm glad Cory escaped a homophobic small town but I'm also almost sorry he's fallen victim to the WeHo club scene. But I wish him well and you further success.

I love this pod. Cory is a good friend of mine and a really sweet guy! Great job Derrick!

It takes a lot of courage to do what he did; I'm glad he got what he wanted out of a family!

I think there should be an extended version of this pod--it would great!

I live in small town USA, and related with this pod. I just never had the ump to get away from here, and it nearly destroyed me. Glad that Cory was able to get away from the homophobic small town, and am very happy that his story was shared for other younger guys out there.

It's always good to hear how others were able to get out of the "closet" I wrote my mom a note and left the house as I didn't't know how she would react. When I got back home she said the most amazing thing "We don't care what you are we will always love you" Unfortunately I know others are not as lucky.

I can def. relate to what Cory felt growing up. I grew up in small "hick" town called Akron. Its in the very conservative part of Iowa. I came out the summer before my freshmen year in high school. And from there I learned the hard way what its like to be one of 2 gay guys living in a town with a population size under 3000 people. I finally moved to Phoenix, AZ a few months ago. But I was in a forced situation to move because I was still 17 and although I was excited about finally getting away from the harsh gay bashing...I felt like shit leaving my gay buddy there all alone. So I went back to visit him.
