  • The Real Cost of Posh's Locks
Hair harvested from Indian virgins in sacred temples is the latest must-have adornment. -- But that was sooo last year, and kinda gross.

  • What you won't do for beauty
Apparently stealing is on the list. A woman is now in jail for trying to steal hair extensions. Daaang - i didn't know it was like that.

  • I came up with this idea after I wrote a spoken word poem about what women do to ourselves to be "presentable". I am part of the vicious cycle too, and I hate that I am. Do the advertising images dictate who we are or should be, or is it a reflection of our society? Here is an excerpt from my "Spin on Society":"As I sit in the congestion of this concrete jungle called the city of angels, I wonder, is this the place to be? For you? For me? Do we? Subscribe…in the worlds eyes….and recognize…or be mesmerized by the images placed in front of our faces…all sizes shapes and races…of beauty."

  • More from "Spin on Society"

What is beautiful? Is it in the eye of the beholder? Or do we behold the tall and thin, golden tan skin, place the value on the outward not within, ourselves, and who we are but what we do, and the superficial califristic expalidocious images, on those billboards so high, so fly, they can almost touch the sky. Of emaciated faces, coked up, doped up...yet we are roped up… to these pictures of models, of chiseled features, of what we aspire to be…This is THEE reality…TV…for you and me…images of perfect faces, nipped and tucked, what the ??? is it all for? So people will love us more? Appreciate us more? Tell us more? About what we need to change… to be accepted into this society?

  • Just curious Angela, which, if any of those services did you keep up with?

  • I hate it when women do these things to their already beautiful selves =/ but that's just me..

  • hey capricorn76, i dont keep up with any of them. i have clip in hair extensions that i use occasionally, but the glued in ones were really annoying and i ripped them out after a month, taking a lot of my old hair out with it!
the eyelash exts take out your OWN eyelashes when they fall out, and it took awhile to grow back. they dont tell you that one when they say you'll have beautiful long lashes after the treatment!
and as for the fake tan, i did it 2x and you smell like chemicals for half the day and sometimes it comes out orange!

but i do spend a lot of money still at sephora for make up products!
    thanks for asking!

  • All I can say is wow! The strand by strand weaving was what really caught my eye. I've seen many weaves being put in but never in this way. I'm thankful for this visual because I've heard a lot about this process, but never saw it performed.I was always curious to know how it was done. I know this is what many Hollywood Celebs get, but to actually see the extentions (hair and eyelashes) being put on up close is intriguing.

  • Women go through way too much trouble to TRY to make themselves more beautiful. I say try, because most women who put in the most work, are already beautiful as they are.

  • Wow that was creepy, I'm glad I'm not a girl.

  • what girls don't know, is that guys don't care about all the extras and perfections. if we dig you, we dig you, and the same may be for you gals also.

i know the ladies love to do it for themselves, to feel pretty, and have fun. but most of these techniques are fake and even dangerous. tanning = cancer, makeup = metals/chemicals into your body

a little "beauty" stuff is ok, but our society asks for too much.

our lame society focuses on EXTERIOR beauty, yet most of us lack INTERIOR beauty. it's no wonder so many people are a mismatch in life, cause they only consider the outside.

the people who focus solely on beauty, tend to be empty inside, boring, and get in the way.
  • I think it would be interesting to see a similar process but for men. I know it's well documented that women go through a lot to "look better". However I am disturbed by some processes that men follow to do the same thing.

When will people learn beatury can;t be faked
