this is such a piece of religous propaganda and the only reason this pod made it to TV is because of holloween. the hell house opperators regurgatate religous propaganda about how gays are evil, all ravers are rapists, all drug dealers are murderers, and how we all are going to HELL. the only good thing about this pod is when some of the teens see the hell house for what it really is, a house of religous hate, and disagree with the people running this sham. at the end of the pod a man offers "salvation" to the lost souls attending hell house, i think somebody needs to save the souls of all the people involved with hell house. SHAME on you current for airing this filth.

Chuz, it is important to see what other people are doing, regardless of whether it is within the bounds of sanity. I thank Ratliff for delivering this startling cross-section of mainstream insanity (read: faith), but I think it would''ve been more powerful to have some narration.

    Wake up, world.

That is pure evil. Brainwashing, mass control. This is what religion is doing, and the government supports it.

Disgusting example of what some churches do to scare people into believing in something. I don't care what you believe, but if you are only believing in Jesus so you don't go to hell, die from using a 'abortion pill', die of AIDS because you are gay, or any of those other insane examples you are believing what you believe for the wrong reasons. I don't understand why a church would find this to be the best way to convert people, it makes me sick.

We're a couple of months from 2008. These people are still living in the dark ages. Narrow-minded fools! My problem with religion, especially Christianity, is that they can be so judgmental. Either you are with them or you'll "burn in eternal damnation". It saddens and scares me that these people have more power then a lot of people realize. If one were so inclined...

This is just one more step the main stream church
is willing to take to fill seats. If god were so pissed at us as humans.....and at what we humans do to each other...why hasn't he/she/it sent someone or something we can all belive in? I think we must find our own way...to belive or not...and what we belive in. In the end we all get what we think we deserve....heaven/hell....that do you think you deserve?

You cant say that sending something for everyone to believe in would work, thats impossible, even if Jesus himself stepped back onto earth and performed miracles people would still oppose him. and those who decided to believe wouldnt be believing on Faith, and thats just what religion is, faith, faith in the unseen and ultimately unknown.
I do not agree with the hell house exhibits whatsoever. it just bums me out that everything that deals with Christianity on our network is showing it in the worst possible light that is so far removed from what it really is about, not to mention it automatically gets tied in with the right wing this and republican that...barff i cant stand the thought that all Christians are right wing crazies because i most certainly am not and i know hoards of people who arent as well...

I am reading these comments and they are just reinforcing my previous one. This church is a disgrace. It give a bad name to all Christianity. I am no Jesus loving church boy, but I am christian; when a christian church does something that makes them look like jackasses it puts a negative spin on the whole religion. It is like the radical Muslims that make everyone who believes in Allah look like a terrorist. The stereotypes are out of control. I agree with andrewrules completely.

This pod reminds me of why I feel ashamed of the majority of the Christian community. I thought Christianity was supposed to be about behaving as Jesus would, but these recruitment techniques seem far from nurturing and loving. Scaring people into believing anything seems evil no matter who is saying it.

    It's a 'Christian' Scared Straight program - a memetic engineers wet-dream.
The only thing really terrifying about this is how many are vulnerable to the mind-f.

i am so glad and grateful that this pod was aired. although i could barely get all the way through it without turning away in disgust, i think people should be aware of events like this and the twisted way in which they portray right and wrong.

beyond the obvious ideological problems i have with these people is the even more pressing issue of this horrible and graphic imagery that is being portrayed as true and real to underage children. I think it is incredibly irresponsible to allow your child through an environment that shows them a raped girl going to hell, an extremely graphic death of a girl dying from an abortion and a boy shooting himself in the head. Especially bothersome is the fact that this is marketed as a haunted house and i could imagine some parents being unaware of the true nature of this thing.

this is wrong and it should stop.

This is another example of human phenonmenon where faith and fear are placed together. Although created to bring people to church...hell house uses negativity and ignorance. Rationality and acceptance is what christianity should spread to open to members not fear.....it's like terrorism all over again. But thought provoking!

That was so disturbing, well I guess they're taking a cue from our president that if you scare people they will believe your lies and deceptions.

To be honest I've watched only 2 minutes of this video so far (I'm in the office and will finish it when I get home), but this is the problem with the church as an organization. It becomes about pushing forth an agenda as opposed to truly delivering God's message and in the and these hardcore, presumably right-wing Christians act less Christian in the process. The comment about being so judgmental was right on: one of the fundamental tenets of Christianity is that only God has the right to judge yet these individuals who claim to be holier-than-art-thou [which in and of itself contains a judgment] are the ones judging others and throwing [verbal] stones. Sadly it gives Christianity a bad name and even a Christian like myself is weary of those who claim to be religious, wondering if they're [as I affectionately call them] Jesus freaks.

this is so ridiculous...ive grew up in the church and christians always try to say that the stuff on the news about them are all lies but this is what they are...not all of them...but most...just because you are gay does not mean you will die of aids, or because you took the "abortion pill" you will die...this is so horrifying...all they are doing is trying to scare people into salvation...even in their bible it says a person has to come to them in their own time and of their own will...this is not of their own will...their just scared and confused

I am a christian, but I do not like the idea of hell house at all. This is pure scare tactics. You aren't supposed to convert someone through fear, you are supposed to present the message of faith and let them decide.

The message that hell house portrays is not one I am proud of as a christian.

Wow, I'm sure people will have lots to say about this one. I'd just like to point out a few things. First of all, what they were calling a pentagram was actually the Jewish star of David (interesting?). Second of all, it's clear what they are selling us here. They are peddling peace of mind and they are using fear and guilt as motivators. Thirdly, did you see how the kids were reacting? They clearly weren't buying it. Perhaps there is hope for our millenium children after all.

$7 for that crap-on-a-stick? I'm so glad I'm an atheist.

Ned Flanders in the "Hippie Pot Party" exhibit at the Springfield Police Museum is way more fun...

... although the girl bleeding from the crotch and screaming for Jebus, errr, Jesus, is pretty damn fun, too.

Hell House is wack, Religion is wack, the best part is when the kids have a mini arguement at the end with the other guy.
