Get up early with Maryland watermen Billy Crook, his son Nick, and JamesThomas, as they take us through a day of crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay.

Want Blue Crabs? This place will send them right to your door. Order them in the winter, the crabs are meatier this time of year (even though most people want them for their summer picnics so the demand is higher in the summer). This is Maryland at it's finest.

This piece was filmed on the Chesapeake in October. It was early and cold (Once my shoes soaked through it got even colder). We launched just north of the Chesapeake Bay bridge. Most of the waterman switch to Oyster this time of year since the crabs aren't in demand during the winter but they went out for my benefit. It was nice to get on the water. I grabbed a bushel afterwards and had my whole family over for a crab cookout.

Am I the only one who feels sorry for the crabs? I'm weird, I know - and not a vegetarian - but those little eyes!
