This is a story that deals directly with hate and prejudice, and offers a solution. Facing direct attacks of discrimination the family in the story confronts the problem directly hoping for some resolution. The result is a complete 180 degree turn, changing a situation of hate into one of love and understanding. Hate crimes happen everyday, this story shows one example of how to stand up against it and create change.

Michael-
I caught your pod, Cantor and Klansman on TV today and was touched by it. I think it embodies the spirit of "unlearning intolerance" that was the mandate of the SOT contest. It is very well executed in story selection, writing, production and editing.
Our piece "Blood Brothers" is now a semi-finalist in the contest (although not faring well in the vote). I am disappointed your piece did not make the semi finals. I think it absolutely deserves to be there. I am so glad that Current decided to air your pod. It is exactly the kind of story that will make a difference. Congratulations on your outstanding work. -Rob -
Inspiring. It is this direct connection of good will between people that is the best defense against hatred.

thanks for the positive coverage of such a horrible issue. If only others could provide stories such as this we quite possible could War and discrimination behind us.
THANK YOU -
i found this pod in the archives and was so moved by it. programming like this re-inforces my own belief that, deep down, hate learned can be unlearned.
