That was silly!..these days it seems that people are looking for something to get discontented or outrraged about.!
Non complience is non-complience!...Don''t think that because the gentilman in question has a Muslim name that this was the reason he got a Pek-a-chu thundershock.
When some one is billegerant, defiant or looking for loads of attention they will get it.
It would be unwise for people to jump to conclusions in this case....This is way different than the Rodney king beating!
with the amount of money he was awared afterwards has definitly spawed the courage of a long line of wannbe''s.-

This is the result of a genuine case of abuse.

This guy kept saying he would leave, but he wasn''t getting up and going.
The tasers are excessive, this wasn''t an emergency, the police should have came to an understanding with this guy, but he didn''t seem to want that.
This guy would make a great actor in a terror suspect movie!!!-

First of all before anyone jumps to any conclusion let set up what was going on in the mind the student when he was ask to show his id. This student with a Muslin name probably felt threaten by the American government and it citizens ever since the television propaganda of September 11 World Trade Center destruction. This propaganda just taught ordinary Americans not to trust and not to like Muslims, Arabs, or anyone similar. So this what was going on in his mind when ever he was asked to show his id when in the past this was not necessary. He felt he saw the propaganda of September 11 was taking effect right at his own school. Therefore he felt it was his right to fight the propaganda that was taking hold at his school.
I am not a Muslim or an Arab but I can imagine how this propaganda would make me feel like America (the country that had subhuman bondage) is treating me in an inhumane way just as was done in the past with imported Africans and Native Americans.
Now we are up to the point where he wouldn?t leave. I saw a least two officers holding him that could easily pick him up and drag him out. Or at least the officers could have hog tied him and took him out. But I guess the officers felt that they were too weak to do this so they turn to something that was a little easier and began to taser the student. This is clearly unnecessary force used by the officers to take a student out of the library. I guess this is what happens in America when you feel you are being treated like not a human you get tasered like you not human.
I conclude by say that America has been an unjust, hateful, and greedy country ever since it was founded with its breaking of treaties with Native Americans, racial discriminations, and its obsession with land and money. These are the same characteristics of ancient Babylon. As what happen before BABYLON SHALL FALL. -

Ok... Wasn''t it mentioned that the officer had some Taser Award from the taser makers? Excessive use, maybe?
Why would a person go through the trouble of getting tased anyway just to get attention? Are you actually comparing this guy to self centered teenagers who cut their wrists for no apparent reason but attention?
AND the reason why the guy who "wanted all that attention" wasn''t getting up and moving is because tasers are used to stun and immobilize people. Now let''s think about that for a second here... Nope. Not rocket science at all.-

God luv these students for protesting...better that than the sorry justifications for police brutality that the cowardly come up with.... and ignorantly post on current.
