Brilliant. A Fearless Pod of Truth. How spare and laser clear is AIDS tragedy portrayed here from the charred fate of these innocent boys back to the spread of AIDS through the lack of reproductive rights for, and violence against women.

Great Job!! This was very moving and honest. You are one of few people that will give this children and women a voice.

I absolutely love this pod! I think the images you provided us with, the viewer, were really needed for several reasons. First, they added an uneasy feel making us see the reality of this matter; it's no pretty picture! I was so hurt when I saw how uninformed the boys were about AIDS. The fact that we don't hear about issuses like these makes it more disturbing to watch. I am thankful for Current and the fact that it allows us to provide a voice for those who would, otherwise, be unheard. What happens to girls? Are there female street orphans?

    @ Christof
What language are those kids using when not adressing you? I heard that Swahili is not spoken by that many although it's one of the official languages in Kenya...

This inspired me to write, its nothing amazing just tells the story

Death destruction a world in pain many conflicts she's worried about rain.
Orphans in Africa thanks to HIV turmoil created, and so much misery.
Taught about aids and STDs, but while I’m listening to lectures they see it 3D.
Called Chakra Scavengers struggling for survival ,waiting for help but there's no arrival.
They steal to live not live to steal no use for material things just hungry for a meal.
Many days a week no food to be found they’re bathing in blood parents no longer around.
All underground their six feet deep emotions are sharp the kids feel weak.
Striving to be drunks to be high not to feel , how can you blame them if this is whats real.
Kudos to those who live undeterred however the rest walk with vision blurred.
bottles of glue bought for a pence if hunger was a rabid dog then this would be there fence.
They forget their mothers forget how to cry until they are sober and they remember that they all died.
withdrawals come back and so does the glue to them this is life and its nothing new.

Strength in numbers protection insured you got my back I got yours and that’s the word.
No knowledge of their enemy its to tiny to see infection possible just by sitting next to me.
Women are beat and the chakra are burned but in the end what is really learned? Life destroyed over a loaf of bread its a sick reality and its stuck in my head. we are so quick to judge we all know its happening but how many of us budge.

I watched this on my iPod Touch from the Vanguard video podcast. I was so moved by Christof's portrayal of these boys. He kept narration to just the minimum needed to keep things moving and understood, and let the boys have the voice. Seeing how the boys clustered around the woman who was beaten for asking her husband to use a condom taught me so many things at once. Well done.
