Had too much too drink? Call a cab. But how's your poor car gonna get home? VC2 producer Alex Simmons has found a company with the answer and a very funny drunk German who should be their poster boy.

  • Dear current,

My roommate and I were watching your channel (the only channel I ever watch, really) one random late night when "Take me home, James" came on. At first, we were a little taken aback. However, after watching the antics of the drunk German guy, we were laying on our living room floor, unable to breathe from laughing so hard. This pod was honestly one of the funniest things I''ve seen in a long time. We''d love to see more of him!

    Yours always,
    Julia
  • Yeah... on November 7th, I''m going to vote for the German DJ for governor... like a write-in type thing.

He deseves some recognition, and I''m tired of Arnold... he''s not even funny.

  • Does anyone know how to book a ride? a website or phone number?

  • In Switzerland, there's an association called "Nez Rouges" (red noses). If one has drunk too much, one can call them, and two people will come over in a car - one of whom will drive one home, the other will follow in their car to pick up the one who drove one's car. It is a free service performed by volunteers, and it has considerably reduced the number of car accidents. :)

  • oh. my. god. I think this has got to be the funniest thing I have ever seen on Current.

"Uh oh, here comes crazy time! Hi there little motorcycle!"

I think Flula should have his own show.

  • This pod was destined to be hilarious. How can you not get some hilarious moments when the guy's job is about chauffering drunk people and utilizing a fold up scooter? Nice job at discovering this unique job and making a compelling pod out of it! Also, nice attention to the technical aspects; the camera was really well done and the interview is very well lit. The characters are great as well. Smart thinking saving the German guy until the end, because at that point he really steals the show and we care more about him than Lawrence. Had we seen him at the beginning we'd likely be less interested in Lawrence's job and just want to see more of Flula. Great pod making!

  • rock on. Lawrence must get more hugs than mickey mouse

  • The best thing about this pod is that after I saw it on tv I came here to find it. I failed by using the words "drunk" and "driver," but it was the first result for "funny german."

    Made my night.

  • This was a great casual piece. Really good storytelling...just nice and linear. It also helps to have really funny drunk people.

  • So my roommate wanted to get in the response with me because she loved the DJ so much! She wanted to be like him so it’s a bit distracting but still funny to watch!

  • This is simply incredible. We all know too well that regardless of how stupid drunk driving is, people will do it. I would like to applaud everyone involved in this organization because truly you all are saving lives and unimaginable amounts of money that would typically be going into hospital bills, city spending to repair damage to signs or buildings even. I can't express enough how great this truly is.

  • Hahahaha, I'm so glad they got the German DJ to be in this pod. He seemed so confused...but happy and fun and the same time. It was great that the info about the scooter was included; just looking at it, I wouldn't have thought it was a big deal.

And can we say that the DJ has some pretty sweet dance moves. Get down!

  • WOOOO! This gets my vote.

  • that was fun to watch. first, i kinda thought "okay, this is a nice guy, ya know, giving drunk people a ride home." but now i'm pretty sure that he only took this job to laugh at the drunkards. i mean, that's why i'd take the job...

  • I want Home James in my city!!

This pod reinforces my love for drunk German DJs - especially those that give great insight on the failings of American public transportation.

    Check out my video response!
