  • Clever, sure. Benefical, differentiating, not in the slightest. This ad says nothing about the product.

    Start concepting your ad with the benefit/sales message first--you need to present a reason to buy. Then build your idea around that, funny or otherwise.

    That's the difference between advertising and silly video.

  • But if the viewer remembers the ad while, say, at the store, they're far more likely to buy that product. Even if it's a subliminal memory.

    Besides, we're talking about skin care for men. I have a feeling more men would respond to this type of ad than a clinical take on the product's benefits for the skin...

  • I liked the ad. I learned in an advertising class that storytelling is the most important element to a good commercial or ad, and this had a cute story behind it. I could totally see it on TV...probably for Axe Body Spray though, not for Loreal.
