These kids are some kind of strong
These kids have been through so much. Losing family has become the norm, and they're not only trying to survive, but are trying to find ways to pull themselves out of the cycle and find a better life. Current's Christof Putzel has also done stories on AIDS orphans...see the link.

  • Thank you for sharing your pod with me and responding to my pod, I was deeply touched. Your video is really well done and it is very poignant. I am going to share this video with my friends and colleagues involved in AIDS education here in our county. I would love to be able to show your video pod in the classroom when I do my HIV education presentations. Is there any way to download a copy for use in education?

  • You know I have been using the video now in the classroom by simply playing it on the computer. I have been lucky to have had a computer connected to a projector to show it with.

The video made quite an impact.

Perhaps we should suggest to create a Current in the Classroom project or something? Huh?

  • It is really bitter-sweet. The poetry they write is poignant yet it shouldn't be. Children shouldn't have to mature this quickly and know heartbreak so young. It is amazing what they do and what they write, but it is tragic that they have to tell of these things--I can't fathom having to do so.
