  • What an eye-opener! As an expat living in the US, I always thought of Caifornia being the first to sink into the sea. Adam did an excellent job of explaining the effects of global warming on Bangladesh. I loved his style of reporting..the camera work was great along with the editing . Michael Palin, watch out! Adam may be relacing you soon, just don''t let BBC see his work..

  • I wanted to ask Grace and Adam a question about written releases on the people you interviewed for this pod. Did you get each of these "recognizable" people to sign a release? We do a lot of international story pods and wonder where the line is with this? Asking villagers from small towns are often afraid to sign papers with foreigners. Do we really need these releases? Thanks for any feedback.
  • thanks adam & grace (& current) -brings the issue of global warming to a personal level : extremely educational yet at the same time very captivating. hope to see more excellent work from u guyz.

  • Bangladesh's global warming problems are particularly acute: It's poor. It's unstable. It's deluged by monsoons. It's kinda screwed geographically, sitting in the world's largest river delta --- think Louisiana, but with much much more water. It's already so densely packed with over 150 million people, and growing FAST.

    And with global warming:
It's getting poorer. It's growing more unstable. Monsoons are strenghtening. Floods are becoming more widespread. Floods bring food scarcity. People are running out of land to grow crops. People are running out of space to live. As Bangladesh literally shrinks, people are migrating north, into India's northeastern states. Tensions are growing at its borders, as Bangladeshis seek refuge, and opportunity, in India. Bangladesh may be the first to experience many of these issues, but it certainly won't be the last.

  • Afloat in Bangladesh
As more of Bangladesh becomes submerged under water because of global warming, people are responding by building floating schools and libraries.
