Chinese twentysomethings have a lot of the same concerns you do. Jobs, career, relationships, not saying anything bad about their government. Oh, wait...

    • Having lived and worked in Shanghai, I think that people don''t want to be affected by the government, if anything, they don''t want any involvement with officials.

My answer: the government is still communist but the people (Shanghai city-people, at least) are mostly capitalist in their way of thinking. Form experience, I have often seen Chinese people make humour of the country''s lack of freedom and liberties; however, mentioning the government''s name brings any joke to a cautious seriousness...

    • nice video, but as you should know after living in shanghai for a while (maybe 1 month is not long enough) you should have realised that talking about the government on TV or even the internet can land you in a lot of trouble.
don't blame the people for their government.

    • Considering the stated goals of the youth that Kristy talks to, I would really love to see a survey done of young people in every country, asking them what their top five goals are. I'll bet the difference would be staggering.
