After an 18-year-old man opens fire in a Utah mall, CJ producer Scott Lambson takes us to the scene.

When I had sent my story to Current TV the names of the victims had not been released. I wanted to include them here so that they do not get lost in all the hype. They were not just numbers, they were people. If you have the time click on the links and learn more about who they were and the loved ones they left behind.
Killed in the attack were-
29-year-old Vanessa Quinn
29-year-old Teresa Ellis
52-year-old Jeffrey Walker

Four people were hospitalized ?
44-year-old Carolyn Tuft (Kirsten Hinkley?s Mother) ? critical condition.

all you can ask is why...What makes someone buy a gun and shoot strangers?

This was a terrible event. I was so glad that that off duty officer ignored the "no guns allowed" sign posted at the mall making it yet another so called "gun free zone". The death toll could have easily doubled, quadrupled, etc if the bad guy had not been kept engaged & busy in a gun fight with the off duty officer during the 7 minutes it took for the Police to arrive & take the bad guy out (which is a very fast response time by the way, many cities average 8 to 10 minutes for Police to arrive on the scene of a 911 call). He truly is a hero who saved countless lives.
