Chris Haston is a great photographer who happens to ride around town with a 3-foot statue of the Virgin Mary in his car. She is his muse, and Chris has created an entire series of photos featuring Mary in various settings. Chris describes his unique style and what inspires him as hes Riding with Mary.

This was a great piece which was lovely to watch. A really nice slice of life featuring an unusual theme. I would be interested to know how it was shot and edited.

from one artist point of view i think that it could be looked at that this is where the virgin mary should be at the time of her need and bringing a part of her to any location can in some ways bring peace to a unstable situation or an already relaxing envirment

I saw this pod a year ago when I first started watching Current. I have thought about it ever since, but I never thought I would see it again There was something that struck me about the pod, the central character, and the topic. I can’t explain what it is, and I don’t really have any personal associations to the Virgin Mary, but I think about the pod – and in particular the night time image of the statue on the beach – at least once a month. I am inspired by Chris’ artistic talents, and by his perseverance and love for his craft. I am so glad I found this pod again… and thanks for sharing this with us!

what a great character! i'm sure there was intense editing involved but this guy is really what pods are all about. people with compelling stories rarely make the news and when they do their tale is never treated as well as it was in this pod. nice job. also, loved the way you used music in this piece. the overall theme stayed the same yet there were dips and sways in the tone at just the right times.
