Freedom 2 Ink allows your latest body art to be permanently removed through one laser treatment.
Still, it's controversial among diehard body ink aficionados.

  • They all ready have removable tattoos - I think they come free when you purchase bubble gum

  • Interesting Pod. I have 9 tats and my best friend is a tattoo artist, so I know where these guys are coming from.

  • Tattoos are a culture all to themselves and their permanency is supposed to be the basis of their appeal.

  • I get where the guy who was against it is coming from. The purpose of a tattoo is to have it there forever, and he's right, we should always research a place and really think about it before getting tattooed, but I think this new type of ink is a good idea when one gets older and you just don't want that tattoo anymore...it's good to be open-minded.

  • I'm definitely with Ivy with this one. I've been thinking of getting some ink on myself for sometime now too, and when I do I never plan on having it removed, but to have that option available is amazing.

Working in places I have (hotel bellman, bank teller), I would not be hired if I had visible tattoos, so by people getting certain tats they lose a big chunk of where they are capable of working in the employment industry. I often think "Well, once I get older I'll work where somewhere that doesn't care if I have tats or not," but if I need a steady bank job in the future to pay my rent, survival comes before body mods.

Though, a part of me doesn't want to let those people getting whack tattoos off the hook so easily by getting it laser removed in a snap. It was funny watching Angelina Jolie try and scratch off that Billy Bob Thorton ink off her arm.

  • Lets all get f*cked up, pay lots of money to get tattooed and remove them! I have paid a good amount of money for the tattoos I have, and if I really didn't want to have them in my later years, I wouldn't have gotten them. I think the new ink may be a good alternative for the people who don't really know what they're getting into, or who aren't really into the art of being tattooed.. but then again thats just my opinion.
  • This was the first video I watched on this site. I must say that this sites' videos are much better than YouTube. It showed a topic with various points of views on a topic and was not biased to either side. I personally would consider getting an erasable tattoo...I would research it first though. I'm definitely a person who will wait to see what the pros and cons are before going all out.

  • i agree with jessicastarlynn, i only have three tattoos, but i've been thinking hard about getting a sleeve. if i were to get the sleeve that i have already planned out and put careful consideration into in the near future, i wouldn't get it in freedom 2 ink mainly because i think it defeats the purpose of getting one...which i think is permanence. plus sleeves are pretty expensive, and i can't imagine the laser treatment being inexpensive either.

all my tattoos have meaning, mark important times in my life, and i can't imagine not having them. if you see a tattoo as a disposable form of art, you might as well save your money and avoid getting one all together.

  • i work at a tattoo shop and the people i have to deal with who come in just to get a tattoo off the wall, 1. they have no idea what they want they just think it would be cool to just get a tattoo. 2. almost 95% of the time they dont like it more than a month or two.

AND I ALWAYS GIVE THEM A DISCLAIMER THAT THIS IS GONNA BE ON YOUR BODY FOREVER. and laser removal only removes about 60% of it on several visits.

now giving people who a very careless with impulse tattoo the idea that tattoos are now easily removable is not a good look for the body modification community. As the artist said in the vid, getting a tattoo and it's longevity is the main appeal for a tattoo.

if your thinking about getting a temporary tattoo, go to the vending machine and get yourself a temporary tattoo or go get henna....

plus your wasting a lot of money, money to get the tattoo, then money to remove the tattoo.

  • tats are an expression of your personality. i can understand if you were stupid enough to get a guys name on your body and want that removed but no one should get a tat with the desire to get it removed someday. Part of it is knowing that it is permanent, it makes it mean more when you pick something to put on your canvas and know that it will always be there.

  • Most people that I know wouldn't just run out and put anything under their skin, so why would people buy into this removable tattoo ink? Who knows how it will react in your body. Quality ink makers (Star Brite, Classic, Mickey Sharpz, ect.) have been around for years, and their products have withstood the test of time. Who knows how this ink will look after five or ten years. People are looking at it and thinking about how easy it is to get rid of, well maybe they should think about how well it will last. I personally wouldn't want to go back to have a tattoo redone because the ink broke done to early. It's a waste of money, and I don't want another painful session. When it comes to tattooing, do it right the first time "Think before you ink." The artists that are down with this kind of ink are in the business to make a buck, and that's not the kind of person I want tattooing me!

  • Obviously... you should be skeptical of this new tattoo ink. It's apparent to me that it is a NEW kind of ink... & there is not enough data in to support it in any way... but you have to keep in mind, this company has been working on it since 1999.

That's a solid 8 years of research and development... with all of their findings, it can't possibly be total bull... right???

In response to the COMMENT ABOVE - "Most people that I know wouldn't just run out and put anything under their skin, so why would people buy into this removable tattoo ink? ---get your facts straight... those "quality ink makers" use automobile ink, poster paint, and other TOXIC materials... that are INSERTED under the skin. Other than that, most tattoo artists mix their own inks... in the back... "quality"????

at least this new ink was created through research... with scientific data... and LABS...it seems pretty legit - www.infinitink.com
