  • Yangtze river dolphins probably now extinct
Researchers claim the type of freshwater dolphin found only in China is now "likely to be extinct". The last sighting was from a few years ago, but offically it has to be 50 years before a species can be declared "whoops".

  • Well, China has a lot to answer for, in terms of displacing all those people and all the environmental damage it's caused.
Of course, I can't also help understanding Chinese resentment at the West second-guessing their every move... since our environmental and human rights record are far from clean.
No good guys in this world!

  • China admits danger!
In a surprising move, the Chinese government has acknowledged the environmental dangers posed by the construction of the Three Gorges Dam.

  • i wouldn't trust this sucker at all. there was massive uneven cooling when pouring the concrete that is critical to the structure. it could be a massive failure in a relative short time. the americanization of china disgusts me.
