I Hate Trendy Bars

Once its trendy to hate trendy bars, then THAT'S when I'll start going to trendy bars.

Nice job, Holly. Really funny rant. I prefer the low-key quieter bars, myself. Pretty much a coffee-shop atmosphere, but with booze. Whenever I'm in a popular crowded bar with loud music and 15 minute lines for drinks, I head for the exit as soon as I possibly can.

This girl sounds like a lot of fun to grab a beer with.

I'm not into dancy-dance thump-thump trendy bars, but I'll certainly go into one of those "dive bars" that are cultivating dinge but in actuality are, in fact, secretly much cleaner than they look. Does this or does this not make me Satan?

Some of the best times I had in college (and some of the most interesting people I've met) were in dirty dive bars. It's a good time.

Good, because my whole neighborhood is one giant, dirty dive bar. I'll let you know the next time I am organizing an in-my-dirty-neighborhood alcohol field trip!

I absolutely hate not being allowed in or getting kicked out of a damn trendy bar or club for not wearing a certain attire...or...wearing a hat.

Nik totally got turned away from the velvet rope. He had mad hat-hair, though. Seana's brother, visiting from out of town, also got turned away. The problem was his touristy walking sneakers. I begged the bouncer, though, I was like, "Dude, no one's looking at this dude's feet."

Trendy/cocktail/coffee bars - anywhere there are hipster hordes is a scary and odd place to be. Of course, the latest trend is to hate hipsters (and dive bars are hipster hangouts, too). Get a good pint at your local or, better yet - party with friends at home. Avoid the stupid and pretentious altogether.

U should talk about things that exite you and that are fun and cool (to you). You waste alot of peoples time, especially your own, talking about something that you think is stupid or that you don't like. Pump up the positive, intead of trying to open peoples eyes to the negative. Cuz really. . . . who wins?

Campbell soup, if she was to talk about things she likes how on earth would it be funny ? or even slightly entertaining , she's found a fantastic angle and she suits the style , she's doing something right if shes getting these episodes on telly , I suggest Holly you should do an episode about people who don't get it !

This is almost the same over here in Brazil, Rio. Believe or not all that can be a bit worse, under 40 degrees Celsius.

I just turned 21 and I was allowed in to a trendy bar. I was there for around 30 minutes had already spent what I would have spent on a case of beer and the gas to drive to the beach and a hotel for the evening. and was barely having a good time... no wonder all those people I work with are broke on monday. They go twice in one weekend.

Give me a grotty pub with atmosphere any day.
