The "Other" Iraq

VC2 producer Hala Alsalman recently traveled to Kurdistan, the northern territories of Iraq, a region considered relatively safe for refugees. According to the UNHCR, 2.3 million Iraqis are internally displaced. That's a record high for refugees globally.

    Bless the Iraqi people in their struggles. I can''t believe we are still occupying a sovereign nation which we invaded based on lies by a President who should be impeached.

    So tragic, and the media doesn't focus enough on what the Iraqi refugees have to deal with. It's amazing you got access to this, the footage of the tents and the people in the camp is very compelling, as are their stories. Great pod... it had everything. But I'd like to know more about the relations between this camp and the surrounding communities? Are they still targets? Just how safe are they?
