A group of Israelis "bomb" northern Gaza with eggs and tomatoes to protest what they describe as "the absurd" Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The group, who describe themselves as left-wing activists, said their act is meant to display what they call the "absurdity" of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

  • i understand what this group is trying to do, but i really disagree. i think this is a horrible stunt, it's not funny, and it's extremely insulting from a humanitarian point of view.

palestinians have it a lot worse than people in israel: israel is constantly moving the border/wall deeper into palestinian territory, the israelis bulldoze thousands of palestinian homes every year, israel is constantly cutting off fuel/water/electricity to palestinian territory, and denying emergency medical evacuations to sick /injured palestinian citizens.

why would it be funny to shoot tomatoes and other fruits at them?

i think a stunt like this could be more effective if it was both israelis and palestinians coming together for an organized, mutual "food fight". however, considering many palestinian families struggle just to put dinner on their tables, i don't see why would want to waste perfectly good food.

  • The Israeli group should deliver a food shooter to the Palestinians, and perhaps some "ammo" as well.

I like it, it's a waste of food, but anything is better than a waste of lives.

  • i have to agree with theorie. the eggs and tomatoes may not be deadly, and perhaps that is why some palestinians are welcoming it, but it's still rude and dehumanizing. plus Israel already has so much power over palestine, if anyone should be throwing tomatoes it should be palestinians. or better yet, how about humanitarian approaches, like talking!?
