This is from my "Out Of Focus" show that I had on TV back in PA in 1995.
The INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY! 1995
This segment is from The Internet Cafe in Scranton, PA. 1 of 5 only in the world at the time!! This is part of internet history, it's a rare story on the beginning of the internet as we know it today. They actually ask the question, "Will the Desktop Computer replace the VCR?"
And the girls hosting the show aren't bad eye candy either!!!!

  • Computer's I gotta get me one of them... this is a cool little flash bulb from another era. It's hard to believe that 10 years ago there were 5 internet cafes in the world, and thanks to wifi -- I think there are 5 cafes within a block that I can use to access the internet.

    There's a great article in wired this month 10 Years that Changed the World that really nails just how powerful the internet is and attempts to dive into the question, What will the internet look like in 10 years. check it out if you get a chance...

  • This serves as an accurate depiction of a time period where we weren't quite able to estimate the importance of a computer. Quite charming. Necassary to as an accurate measure of technological history.

  • Dateline: 1995. I went to a friend’s house who had this thingy on his computer called the Internet. I downloaded almost every Phish lyric in their arsenal. I was shocked, wide-eyed, and incredulous that this was real. But it was real, and today I can go on Google, find a recipe for coogle, find a wife or find a friend from the third grade, load a song, or anything imaginable in the history of imagination. Thanks for reminding us just how small the world use to be IN 1995!!! (Or is it smaller now because of the Internet?) GREEEEEENLIGHT
