Bumperstickers always give me a boost, too. It makes me realize that I'm not alone.

I'm not sure if these bumper stickers actually make me feel better, but they certainly are interesting to read. I'd stick around for a few extra minutes and watch this on TV if this came on.

I like it. Very Creative. I never really thought of people being able to express their thoughts through bumper stickers before I saw this video.

I grew up in Eugene, so I suppose I'm naturally inclined to be interested. Beyond your restored faith in humanity, I think these stickers also are a great way to show the culture of Eugene - our community has deep roots in "hippie" culture. Anyhow, great idea - and one that could be done in other cities to get an anthropological pulse of the place. Am I overthinking it?

I recognize that music from somewhere.

Thanks for the comments so far. Blueflame, at the end of the video in the credits I explain the music. Hedoo, I fell in love with Eugene when I visited my sister and two nieces, who live there, last Thanksgiving. My video is also meant as a valentine of sorts for that wonderful community. I can say that since making it, I've seen other cool bumper stickers on cars, here in San Diego and in other places, that deserve to be put in a video -- but unfortunately one can't capture all of them at once. Thanks again for the comments, for the Green Lights...and for Current TV! --PodPoet

i liked it too, easy to watch, great choice of music. I always wanted to teach a class on sociology based on bumper stickers. The best part is when you see conflicting stickers, and you try to figure out the person, like a dancing bear dead sticker with a NRA one. There seemed to be a blip of white in there somewhere 2/3rds in. was that my viewing problem or something else? and lastly, the shots of nature were nice, but seemed to be a little out of place when everything before it was all bumper stickers. that's my two cents, but I really did enjoy it. now put it on tv.

Domino, I was disappointed by the "blip of white" as well. It somehow happened when they condensed it for the Current studio. If you want to see the PERFECT (no white blip) version of the video, you're welcome to do so at link where a click will open it up in Windows Media Player (or compatible program) for you and play correctly, The white blip erroneously hides a slow pan out from my sister and her two daughters walking alongside an Oregon creek. I decided to make the few nature shots part of the film (during the musical interlude) because: a) it's where the song is addressing most eloquently the need for environmental stewardship; b) I wanted to give some kudos to my sister and her kids since it was during a visit with them in Eugene that I was inspired to make the film; and c) I wanted to show off how gorgeous the natural environment around Eugene is, so as not to leave people the impression that Eugene is ONLY about great bumper stickers on beat-up cars. Thanks for your comments!

Nice, esp since it was done with a PowerShot! This would be a great ad promoting Eugene--obviously to a targeted liberal audience!

I got a little choked up. You can't beat that with a stick.

sometimes "sound bytes" do say it all, in that a simple straight forward message can communicate both the problem and the solution. Great stuff!

Too much of a political ad.

Sorry, don't think it'll make it to TV.

I like this. It's great. It's too long for TV though. Edited down with maybe some quicker edits it'll be tighter.

Well done. Nice music selection. The commentor above is right about its chances of getting on air im affraid but well done regardless. Only thing i might work on improving is the stream of wipepouts to get to each bumper. I think you could tighten it up by collaging them without as many wipes. Great idea though.

The film was about bumper stickers, which is a form of freedom of expression everyone can relate to. This message was distracted by the political aspects incorporated, i.e the Kerry and anti-Bush stickers. Expressing pro/anti-Bush divides in more of a negative way than positive.

    Politics divide like-minded people.

The idea of the pod is great.

good video work...totally one sided though. plus the fact that the election happened a WHILE ago makes this video irrelevant.

but i like it though...dont get me wrong.

The production was done really well. Also, thanks for the warning...I will never go to Eugene, Oregon. That place must suck.

I thought that was great. It's still current because Bush is still in the white house!!

I'm from Eugene, and I've always wondered why so many people here have bumper stickers. Anywhere else I've traveled I have never seen so many people who want to advertise their beliefs on their vehicle.

One thing that pisses me off is when people put environmental stickers on their SUVs and vans. Hello? Are we awake yet? Political bumper stickers also annoy the crap out of me. Many people here also have stickers that advertise their belief in the power of Marijuana, I salute those brave individuals who are willing to get pulled over for that particular belief.

Clearly, there are many liberal people who live in Eugene. There are also quite a few people who still have their "W'04", "Marriage = Male + Female" stickers on their cars, as well as the marine, army, and other warmongering bravado stickers. Everyone seems to think that the people driving behind them need to know what their opinions on world issues are, in addition to their diving skills.
