This is a view of the 2005 presidential election that the mainstream media choose to ignore. Look at today's news and decide if the protestors were right about Bush.

  • Thank you for this video. I never saw any of this on the news! It makes me wonder ... what else are they hiding from us? I hope DeanHamer and other film makers continue to use CurrentTV to educate America and expose the truth.

  • Brave, very brave. Hard-hitting and unabashed.

  • Dean, what is the "view" that the media ignored? That there were upset people and protests after the election?
  • I think by "view" he simply meant "seen images." I certainly didn't see any of these images on the nightly news!
  • I was there, the DC police were really cool.
Except for the few that pepper sprayed us with an ooze.

It was also disappointing because there was only about 10,000 people. A far cry from the 500,000 at the NYC Repub convention.
  • Very nice. Great music. A definite GREENLIGHT! Those images need to be seen because most people did NOT see them on the news. There is another protest on Sept. 24rth, and I bet more people will be there this time.

Question: Do you have the rights to use those images of Bush on the news? I am doing a similar piece and was told Current could not use video from the news.
  • Well done, but why aren't we protesting/exposing the corrupt 2 party rigged election between Skull and Bones... They control the media, polital process and us. Bush/Kerry just peas in a Pod, pardon the pun.

A true independent candidate who answers to "We The People" is our only hope of taking back America.
  • Melody- I made this piece back in January, pre-Current, to air on the "Not In Our Name" website. It *should* be fair use to use short clips from the news, but hey- we live in a corporate world, so it's probably a no-no. Bummer eh?
  • nice blend of true images. glad to see an original mix. Keep it up.

  • Missed oppertunity. I am sure the protestors, had a lot more to say. Loose the music and give them a voice. That said, well edited, and a very important topic. keep marching.
  • Never has a call for impeachment been so danceable.
  • This pod NEEDS to be aired!

  • Excellent work. VISUALIZE IMPEACHMENT!

  • I noticed a sign that said "Down with US / UK Imperialism" I may be wrong, but if this country (and especially the UK) hadn't of been imperialistic, this continent would be ruled by the Spanish, French, and Dutch. This is an imperialistic nation - the country wouldn't be here if we weren't.
  • Every day I wonder, WHY is Bush our president...
  • THIS SHOULD BE SHOWN TO EUROPE AND ASIAN COUNTRIES CANADA AND BE HEARD WHAT AMERICANS REALLY THINK ABOUT BUSH AND HIS KLAN

  • Boring. Seen this a million times in other forms. Lets grow up. Enough w/ the knee jerk, bumper sticker chants. How about some thing constructive? Didn't we all learn that communism doesn't work and anarchy only works in a kindergarden playground? Maybe we should sit within our borders and wait for the terrorists to hit again? They want to have an Islamic ruled world and unless we start understanding that motivation, and that this is a necessary war, we as a people will be finished.

  • The one thing that stands out to me in this pod is how much the "F" word is used by the anti-Bush protesters and how much they disrespected the President. To me this shows a lack of maturity and intelligence and it makes me wonder how our country would be if these same people were in charge. Probably lots of "F" words and disrespect...lol.

  • Bush is some one who should not be inoffice hasn't he murdered enough people already. Bush needs to be out of office an oue troops need to come, our country is onlt over there for the oil everyone knows that, to me Bush is someone who can't handle an office and we need someone in there who is liable for the job Bush is just plain stupid he don't knoe what he is doing.

  • Dean,

The cheerleaders alone were worth the "price of admission"! Thanks for the rousing string of images.

But why so passive. How about a few interviews?

  • Not only is the presidency in a despicable state (even though he's trying as hard as he can to be a decisive leader), the nation is in very poor shape. Ever since the inauguration, things have been in question.

But let's step back. When has this country ever been unified about anything? With so many views and opinions... we are a group of desperate immigrants, greedy war-mongers, and if not that - then apathetic louts.

A few people go out and protest..... yet they don't recall the parallel words of Thomas Jefferson and Mao. Goes like this - Bloody revolution is required to keep the machine squeaky clean. And that is not a referrence to Iraq or Iran.

  • I'm tired of the Bush Bashing.
    He's a human BEING.
It's hard being president. I don't see you as president that's for sure.
It's one thing to comment online it's another thing to get off your lazy butt and do something about it.
Do you have a complaint? Write a senator. Do whine and wimper while there's a thousand ways to get involved.
In iraq THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE were being killed daily.
We're lucky we have a say in what happens in the goverment.
The people of iraq were being slaughtered by the Iraq Dictator.
We needed to do something before more were killed.

I'm not a bush supporter, but I'm not a Bush Hater.

I'm just giving my side of the story.
Please don't flag this, This is my voice, which is what current tv is all about. Even if you hate George W. Bush, Don't restrict my free speech. Thanks.

Greatly produced pod though. It would've been better with a few more interviews and maybe a little less one-sided. Also in your description you were talking about the voice that was ignored, That was not it. You saw protests every day about how bad a president Bush is and was. That's not an unheard voice.

  • mattk says, "It's hard being president. I don't see you as president that's for sure."

So how come you don't have the same compassion for Saddam Hussein? He was president too.

That's a very dangerous way of thinking --- that a president with bad policies should not be criticized because it's a tough job.

    Go Dixie Chicks!

  • terrific! Even so far after the fact, I'm glad I got to see it. Helps heal the soul. Now I want to be a cheerleader!

  • Hi, I saw one of your pods on actual Current TV yesterday, it was so cool cause I feel like we are all friends here, part of this amazing community. Viral Democracy! Congratulations!
    getreel
  • Well presented. Could have been a little stronger.
And as to mattk's comments. Look around you man!
You have a president that could be tried for war crimes , who entered office under questionable circumstances. A vice president who places his loyalty to the people second to his loyalty to his business interests.
You have an economy that has taken a nose dive faster and harder than a plane that's lost it's wings.

Your personal freedoms and rights have been eroded in unprecedented levels.

You speak of Iraq? The first thing the USA did when they invaded was sell off national interests to American firms. Even the Iraqi people have asked them to leave.

Of course as a Canadian I have been watching different news channels than you probably have so perhaps it is just propaganda.

Oh, and is that fence they are building around the country to keep people out or keep people in?

And then there is the billion dollar homeland security prison being built. With the ability to bypass the constitutional rights by screaming terrorist, perhaps they can use it to house political opposition as well.

It's time the USA governments started looking inward at building a happier and healthier place to live in rather than spend billions on a war machine that appears to be used more for aggression than defense. Wake up America! or I should say wake up the 49% minority that voted Bush back in. People who seem to be more threatened by gay rights than watching their jobs and economy go down the tubes.

P.S. This is not an attack on the American people...my wife was an American. It is critique of government foreign policy and how it is perceived from outside the USA. I won't be insulted if this is deleted, I know there are a lot of Rednecks out there that will be offended :)

2nd P.S. My doctor has told me not to watch anymore of your videos. They push my blood pressure off the scale :)
