  • Great video and well done!

  • The quality of the video was ok and the editing was fine. The content left way to much to the imagination, He did not show how it got the unit spinning. As soon as he started to put a load on the "generator" it slowed down. After watching the video twice I still have no idea how he expects to do this on a scale large enough to power anything.
I will say this though. There will be someone that comes along and protests the use of magnets or some other thing if his idea does have merit. Look at what is going on with wind power. There is hardly any better place to show the merits of wind than off Nantucket. But wait the Kennedy's live there and now we have a case of NIMBY. There is a lot of discussion going on right now in Vermont about windmills. They do kill a few birds. I guess you have to weigh the fact that we might kill a few more birds (and we are talking about only a FEW more) or we can continue to rely on the Middle East for our oil. The other and now the biggest reason is that they will spoil the ridgeline views. Now personally I think they do a lot less damage to the eyes than the ugly scars that you now see on the mountains near Stowe, or Killington or Jay Peak. It isn't just the wide swaths or clear cut to make trails but then they have these monstrous towers and cables with big chairs or even gondolas.
There is a lot of study going on with making power from wave action. But then again they will be in someone's back yard. If that back yard happens to belong to a Kennedy then you can forget about it. You know, one thing I have discovered lately. is that if a politician SAYS to the citizens that you will take care of them from birth to grave then you will be assured of reelection. Now you don't have to really follow through as long as you sound sincere. I wish the real world worked that way. I could open up a store and sell a product that I can say will cure all your troubles. If I say it loud enough and long enough a lot of people will believe me. Then I can enlist some people that have way more money than they know what to do with and let them spread the word...............Oh wait that sounds strangely enough like what is going on now about energy.
    Respectfully

  • Is this an untimely April Fools joke?
There are several points that suggest dishonesty or lack of knowledge.
    1. Power is measured in units of work over time, such as horsepower or watts (joules/second). voltage is an entirely separate entity involving an electrical "force" but merely exchanges potential energy for kinetic energy on a given electron. All he did was convert a DC source of electricity to an AC form and step up( or down) the unspecified DC voltage to 5.5 AC volts (same thing the little black box wired inline to your laptop power cord does).
    2. The fundamental premise he is operating on is known in old-fashioned terms as "perpetual motion", i.e investing a little energy into a closed system and getting more energy out than you put in. Humorously enough, it also falls somewhat into the same vein as alchemy i.e turning flax into gold. it makes for good myth, fable and science fiction but not for real science.
All of this can be confirmed by a standard college physics textbook and supported by a little common sense.
Respectfully nonplussed by the whole thing.
