Making Fire..... technology from the ancients.
Join us as we go back 10,000 years to see how you can make fire from little more than some wood pieces and some ripcord. Who knows what kind of technology will be needed in the future? Those who can take what we have and survive and create from old technologies and new technologies will be the heros of this century.

This is the third part of a series with Cody Lundin, founder of Aboriginal Living Skills School alssadventures.com and ACES Arizona Center for Environmental Sustainability. Send him and email, let him know if you can start fire from seeing it done here on current, or better yet check out the courses he has to offer.

  • Excellent! Truely informaztive and inspirational. a very good piece! My only criticism is that you could have use something on the mic to help with that wind. Thanks for producing such a fun piece !

  • Great Piece.

Audio Tip: USE A HIGH PASS FILTER, set at about 70-100hz. This will make the wind noise much less noticable. Also, get a windscreen for your mike!

    Otherwise very cool.

  • What I find disturbing about contemporary society is the abject lack of interest in ancient technology & techniques.

But somehow, our brief culture has spawned 'modern' science. With such short experience, we have the ego to think tinkering with the Building Blocks of Life is a *good* idea. Hell, we can't get immunization or breast implants figured out without harm, much less figure out if it IS a good idea to make glowing pigs, feed animal meal to herbivores or determine the difference between disease & adaptive mutation to environmental changes...

    You guys are amazing.

    Thank you!!
