  • Excellent job, Taylor. It really makes you think about what it means to
be a survivor. You have great potential. Keep up the good work.

  • Thank you for keeping the memory alive...those who don't know
history are doomed to repeat it (a poor recap of the original quote).
And secondly, I am captured by the camera work and just right
sound/nature(which is after all indifferent) and the reminder of how far from grace humans can fall...great editing.

  • You are a truly gifted filmmaker, and I think you should perhaps use this as an opportunity to expand on the topic of Holocaust Survivors in Charleston--I recognized it because that's my hometown.

I love the feeling I get when I see a film that just sparks the passion inside of me. I honestly wish you the best of luck with this film and your career---do your thing!

  • If ONLY Steven Spielberg could see this! Your talents and advanced knowledge of filmmaking are quite obvious here and this film is very special. The editing, the lighting, the sound effects, choice of scenery and positioning of Mr. Engel all successfully and professionally portray the emotional content of this story! Congratualations on a job very well done and look forward to future films that you produce!!!
  • I finally got to watch! Excellent work, guys! Really amazing to hear Joe's story. Wish you'd been able to do that with Gpa Dave!
  • I liked the beginning music and the black room where the subject sits. The beginning title and fade in to the subject sitting with his hand in his head is a good effect. The black and white footage goes good with the details of the camp and experiences that he discusses. The loud bell does well with transitioning from beginning experiences to experiences that are a little more horrible. I like the shots of the sleeve rolling up his arm as he discusses the tatoo. The birds flying as he discusses death is a good effect. The pod ends on a bold statement of not giving up and surviving.
  • This was very compelling--grabs the viewer immediately, and the B/W film with just a hint of color here and there--excellently planned out! Good subject, timeless. "Joe" deserves to be heard, and his story is treated with the utmost respect by the filmmaker(s)--which is rare on 'mainstream' tv..simple, strong, dignified. Nice choice of music.
  • I don't know if CURRENT is the right venue, but this is extremely good. Maybe a Holocaust program or museum? By all means, this should be seen! I am very impressed, and it’s not easy to impress me… Greenlight! Keep making films!!!
