Living Food is food provided by nature, organically grown in its original uncooked state.

In 1999 Brenda Cobb was diagnosed with breast and cervical cancer. Brenda discovered living foods and after 6 months of eating raw living foods she was cured. Brenda then started the Living Foods Institute to teach others the amazing benefits of eating raw organic and living foods. Thousands of people have benefited from the Living Foods Institute and Brenda's mission is to help as many people as she can. Randy Hyman is one example and student who entered the Institute barely able to walk relying on a walking cane. Randy was on insulin for 20 years and was spending thousands of dollars a month on various medications. After 10 days of eating raw foods Randy was off insulin and on his way to better health and also regaining his wealth after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on medical treatment over the years.

  • I'm so glad you did this topic! It's all about prevention! Thank you for showing the benefits of healthy eating and the power it has to cure our bodies! I was just curous where your first text statistic came from, and would have loved if this piece was just a little bit longer, with interviews with more people like Brenda telling stories of how their life was changed by living foods. But the message is clear and an important one to share!

  • I found it very informative and the lady held my attention. Greenlighted and one again, Great job Gil!!!!
  • People have been eating raw foods for years and this diet was polular in the 70's. It heals some people but not others. While most people can benenfit from eating more fresh and raw foods, most people cannot live on a strict raw -ood vegetarian-diet and live up to their full potential--health-wise or otherwise and the reasons are explained clearly in Peter D'Adamo's book. The following is an excerpt:

"Eat Right 4 Your Type" - Blood Type Diet

The concept to "Eat Right For Your Type" - or "Blood Type Diet " is based on research conducted
by Peter D'Adamo, ND, who claims that people fare better (including with weight management) when
tailoring their diet to their specific blood types. He advises:

Type A types: should basically stick to fruits and vegetables (high carbs / low fat).
They have thicker blood than other blood types, a sensitive immune system,
and should not consume dairy products, animal fats and meats. They are at
a heightened risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.

Type B types: should consume a balanced diet (fruits and vegetables, grains, fish, dairy, meat,
but avoid chicken). They have the best chance of bypassing or overcoming
everyday types of diseases, including heart disease and cancer.

Type AB types: should consume a mostly vegetarian diet, and only on rare occasions some
fish, meat (no chicken), and dairy.

Type O types: should basically stick to a high protein diet (including red meat), low carbs, and
enriched with fruits and vegetables. They should limit the intake of wheat germ,
whole wheat products, corn, and avoid dairy products and most nuts.
Type O types are commonly affected with hypothyroidism, high stomach acid
(leading to ulcers), and thinner blood with greater resistance to blood clotting.

I tried the all raw-food vegetarian-diet in the 70's and it was fun for 6 months until I was weak, spacey and really not into it anymore. I was living near the Life Chiropractice College and many chiropractic students and their familes were also on similiar diets--then a Seminar Leader came to town and starting blood testing anyone that would listen telling people that not everyone is cut out to be a Vegan. And telling them which of them would last as vegetarians and which would have problems based on blood typing. Live and learn. Now I love gourment food--low carbs and am feeling just fine. And I still do the carrot juice and wheat grass for old times sake and I like it. But am happy to be a Vegan-No-More.. best Loring down the Lane

  • While not a raw foodist or Vegan I thought Combustagil's piece extreemly thought provoking and interesting. This piece would never be aired on mainstream media and that makes the appeal that much greater.... keep up the good work Combusagil, look forward to seeing more from you.

  • You've done a great service to wheat grass. I hate the way it tastes, but I'm going to start drinking it and putting it on my face. Thanks! This beats the advice given on Oprah.

  • As a professional in the health field I recognize that one of the essential "keys" to unlocking one's health potential is to eat as simply as possible and avoid processed foods. At one end of this spectrum is the raw food movement.

Your video has given us a short look at what a raw foodist is and what the diet has done for so many in their search for better health. It is somethng to think about and maybe some out there will be inspired to try it through your video of Brenda's work.

I liked the "green martians" the best! - Mo Braum, DC

  • This video needs to be aired on TV to let people decide for themselves if they want to start using this diet. Loring

  • On content: it is great, this is an important subject!

On cinemaography, it's not too flashy or eye catching, but thats okay. The views of the people doing the juicing and the green Martian faces was good material.

On the interview with the man with a Carribean? accent, I like what was done with the "subtitling" so you could be sure to catch what was being said.

On the pace, it was good, the info and speaking flows nicely.

I gave this one a green light for these many reasons.

As for the comments by Loring - it is true that there are many dietary types for humans. And a bit of variety is good, periodic change, especially doing a fast once in awhile. So if you dont want to be a live food/raw food/Vegan then at least you know about it for when you are going to need it!

And knowing that other people are doing it and taking it very serious is also necessary. We all need to be informed about these things that are really making the world a better place and making people's lives better.

    Thanks for listening.

  • If I could figure out how to grow wheatgrass without attracting pests, it would be brilliant. That & the expensive juicers...

If someone could come up with a good way to grow wheatgrass without bugs or sell a CHEAP & EFFICIENT juicer...

But this won't stop me from posting this footage on my website, thank you!!

  • NIce work! I'd love to see a feature length film on this subject! I hope you do it! You got my green, because now I'm going to get some green and drink it!
  • Great content. This is definitely an important subject that more people should be aware of. Awesome job!

  • These are the type of pieces that make us proud to be a part of the Current TV community.
  • These are the type of pieces that make us proud to be a part of the Current TV community.
  • what an important message. i think the best point in the piece was laid out so eloquently by the gentleman: doctors (some of whom are agents of big pharma) have very little reason to promote the body's own capacity to heal. if they did, what would the desperate, brainwashed, pill-popping droves do? where would they get relief from their supposed "ills"? it's time for us to stop our reliance on the quick remedy and obey our own bodies' cues.

to stop the diatribe and comment on the piece, it would have been wonderful to hear from others in the class, particularly those in green face...but all in all i enjoyed the piece immensely.

  • Thank you for getting this important message out to the people!

  • I'm not 100% convinced of the veracity of all the statements made. (I would have appreciated a bibliography rolling at the conclusion that listed the studies cited). Still, it's a message worthy of discussion and consideration and our overweight, unhealthy nation can use the information.

  • I really liked this pod.

  • As a Naturopathic physician, this info, which is so hidden and ridiculed in our culture, needs to get out. I think Gil has done a great job of putting this piece together!!

To comment on the topic - many call live food, unatural, a fad! Du-huu? About 60,000 species on the planet and we are the only one who eats cooked food. And, not one of us came out of the womb with a crockpot in hand. Wake up folks.

    Bless,
    dr. michael
  • Thanks for raising awareness of live food and it's benefits. I have a friend who has become a real evangelist for raw food after losing 100 lbs and basically turning his life around. Even if you don't agree with some of the statements made in the video, the subject is one that really needs consideration by our society.

The medical business doesn't want you to think about this stuff......

  • Natural remedies are certainly the direction in which people should be looking for getting better health in the future. It is so much simpler and it’s without any side effect like that in synthetic drugs. Balanced diet and proper lifestyle is all you need to never even have a headache. Our own body is quite well equipped to fight off decease like cancer, arthritis or Parkinson, the very point which I am trying to make through this pod.

    link

Certainly more work needs to be done to spread awareness of these natural cures.
    Good work Gil.

  • Thanks for the education. I put down my juicer for no particular reason about a year ago - time to get back in the swing. A piece like this needs to reach a wide audience - the message is that important.

For a less important message, check out our latest, "Flying Baby."

    Great work Combustagil.

  • I'm glad to see you've reached rank number 2, this is a very important message that needs to be seen, and we all need to be educated, people has terrible eating habits and I'm sure this is causing many of the diseases in this days. We are what we eat! Good job.

  • I really enjoyed learning about theese foods. Nice use of text over images to communicate information.
  • The video is great! I have seen the Sunday graduations at Brenda's Living Foods Institute. They allowed me to taste their delicious raw food dishes. I was surprised at the variety of flavors one can make with living foods. Since attending I have been preparing all raw food meals and I feel energetic and happy! I even lost 6 pounds without trying! I may be 15 pounds overweight, but that's up for debate. I hope you are featured on television, because people need to know about living foods!

  • Great work with this pod. The world and especially the United States needs to hear this message. I like Edisons quote at the end. It reminds me that "Dead Doctors Don't Lie!"

  • This is really amazing.
  • thanks for informing those of us who see wheatgrass being sold everywhere (<3 whole foods in LA) without ever really getting a good sit-down on its benefits. rock on!
  • i really like your work...this piece is wonderful. very informative. it could really help some people in many ways. thanks. and congratulations.

  • There is this presentation by this doctor on a posting here in Current that has some valuable information about the body systems and how they work with relation to cancer that supports this claim.

Of course, please ignore that the doctor is advocating the use of an expensive mineral product, but the information is valid and clear. Check it out.

disclaimer I don't support Multi level marketing schemes but I do support the use of whole living foods.
