In the Katrina ravaged Lower Ninth Ward, The Common Ground Relief organization provides disaster relief and assistance to residents trying to return to New Orleans.As we film throughout the area, we notice that it is groups such as these that are staying behind after the mainstream has gone.

Hurricane Katrina seems to have fallen out of the consciousnes of the American people. Thank you for making this video to show those down there who care who have stayed behind while this indifferent government forgets them. I will be checking their site out. Definite GL.

i've lived in st. bernard parish all my life, and i had friends that lived all over the ninth ward.
people should see this video so everyone can understand what is going on.

Dude... so a bunch of us from school (we live in IA) went and volunteered at Common Ground...it was awesome and totally rewarding...it felt soo good to be able to help..we did not know special skills..but we could provide labor which is what they need !!..I stayed at St. Mary's and it is an great community..you should go down there and help..i even want to go back this summer if i can..thank you common ground for all you do
