An up close and personal look into the issue of children being brought up in a single family home with the lack of a father's presence. Little Kisha is an example as she sits on the porch outside awaiting her father's arrival for their planned outing.

Very nicely done...
-
Great job
-
Emotional!!! Good Job.
-
This is so tragic. It makes me realize just how hard it may be to grow up without a father and makes me want to reach out to the kids in my life who don't have their dad. A very arresting video.
-
THIS IS VERY SURREAL AND UNFORTUNATELY HURTFUL FOR A LOT OF CHILDREN. THIS MAY HELP WITH STOPPING THIS TREND!!!
-
It was a very true yet sad reality
-
Really touches close to home.
-

Good idea but why is that profanity had to be used? Why does everything you see and hear these days have to have profanity in it?You are trying to do a strong piece and get a message across yet you ruined the entire idea with the profanity.
-
Thanks for making a piece like this it should help wake up some of these dead beat bros out here.
-
I'm proud of you JP.

Impacts emotions. Very emotional content. Liked how the text was cut within the film clips. Great little actress! I think that it ended too abruptly at the end. Mom seemed to be overacting a bit.
-
This was a very well made short. John Scott has captured the emotions of both the parent and child when fathers are absent from their responsibilities. John is a great artisit and I would like to see more films by him.
-
That was very good John Scott, my main man. It was very believeable.
It definitely seemed like a public service announcement.-

This video sent me back to my childhood. I can remember sitting and waiting for my father to come visit me an he doesnt show or would call at the last min to cancel. John this was so good. Im Trying to not cry over here as i watched it. I wish you the best of luck and i hope more people would come an see this and see how it does affect a child when their fathers are not in their lives.

Good message and idea. Unfortunately, it seems rehearsed.
-
Wow, I am very impressed. It is no fun waiting for daddy. It would be cool to see one from daddy's side.

GOD BLESS U & LIL' KISHA and her FAM -
great film. good topic, powerful topic that needs addressing

Yes it was sad, tragic even, to see this little girl waiting for her no-good, deadbeat dad. But as an African American man, father, and filmmaker, I get SOOOOO tired of Hollywood and below portraying African American men as deadbeat, gangbanging, Mandingo-like, drug-using, purse-snatching felons. It's so overplayed and unfair both Black and White America to continue to perpetuate this stereotype. There are deadbeat dads of every culture, and this film would have been just as effective using a child of another race. Just my 2 cents worth.

God. This was horrible to watch. This poor little girl doesn't deserve this. Children should be the MOST important thing in our lives- even if we can't stay in love with their mother. I have two kids and I had to fight in the court system to stay in their lives In the long run- we are very close and they always knew their Dad loved them. It was one of the greatest things I've ever did and I am proud of them both. Dads- wake up! Anyone can be a Father but it takes a lot more to be a DAD. Your children are SO important...
-
This was a good pod but I do feel it perpetuates a stereotype. If you were set on using this family you could have used more statistics to show that absentee parents affect every race and group.

I agree that this perpetuates a negative stereotype about African American families, fathers and mothers. She had a four year old on the front stoop alone all day? Afterwards, proceeded to curse about the deadbeat dad right in front of her daughter? Wow, how negative can you get? I think that being more creative and speaking to some parents in family court would have been a much better pod. This did seem contrived too. Cute little girl...

I think that it is about time that somebody showed it like it is.
When i was little my dad missed my frist day of school*but picked me upat the end of the day*
My teacher thought that i didnt have a dad just becuase he wasnt there. It made me mad, but fathers arent here to rasie thier kids anymore.
I have friends that hate thier dads becuase they never say hi to them, never write cards, cant remeber birthdays. Its not only black famlies like my own. It is all familys
MEN YALL NEED TO STEP IT UP-
