Grow Here Now and Build Here Now. Annual workshops which bring together

“what is permaculture” as we attend the Grow Here
Now - Convergence at Lama.

Permaculture is a word originally coined by Bill Mollison and David
Holmgren in the mid 1970's to describe an "integrated, evolving system
of perennial or self-perpetuating plant and animal species useful to
man"
'Consciously designed landscapes which mimic the patterns and
relationships found in nature, while yielding an abundance of food,
fibre and energy for provision of local needs. People, their buildings
and the ways in which they organize themselves are central to
permaculture. Thus the permaculture vision of permanent or sustainable
agriculture has evolved to one of permanent or sustainable culture.

What is Permaculture ?

  • Start out by telling us where these people are and what brought them together.

Make it 3 minutes, and include the remarks about lawns being used in a "delinquent" way when food isn't grown on them. Also the remark about people having freedom and a "full tummy."

  • I was lost when this vid started and like the previous poster I wondered who this people are, where they are, and is there a lama group in my comunity. I GREENLIGHT this pod. It would be nice to get more info on this individuals :) GOOD WORK!

  • Now.. either the title is tongue in cheek and the meandering interviews given are meant to bolster this idea... or the concept of permaculture is obscured by eupamisims that no one can come out and actually answer the question 'What is Permaculture?'. I, as a viewer, am confused as too what these people are trying to accomplish... am I supposed to be confused? If so, thumbs up... if not, thumbs down... a tighter and more focused cut of this would help immensly...

  • I find human sustainability very interesting- and I think a lot of your shots communicate the character of this group very well. I really like your use of titles, which may seem insignificant but adds a professional tone to your movie. However, I think some of your edits are a little rough- or some shots are not worth keeping in the final cut.

    Great job.

  • Thnk you, that was a great pod, but if you made it more concentrated and gave a clearer answer to the question it would be better. There were some great points, but there was also a fair amount that was not esential to the overall message, so i'd cut that out. There was one point with talking and writing at the same time which was hard to digest; could you separate them? Otherwise a brilliant pod.
