But I think more background on the internet is necessary.
It would be good to explicitly state how the internet and its information can be a valuable resource. How the poor could use it to their advantage. And how disadvantaged they can be with out it.

I think some statistics could also strengthen this pod.

Considering the percentage of “minorities” that live under the poverty line and in such areas; this topic boils down to institutionalized racisms/ classism.
Wikipidia definition:
Structural or institutional classism is a passive form of classism that occurs when institutions or common practices are structured in such a way as to effectively exclude or marginalize people from lower classes,

Lets take the example of African Americans.
The Emancipation Proclamation freed the slaves. They were free but considerably disadvantaged because the white majority had all the land, companies, money and business connections. But has the US eve done anything to compensate for this…..NO.
It has instead institutionalized racism to a point where it is acceptable.
But I find it unacceptable.

Great story! I gave you guys the greenlight because you had all the elements working in your piece. I LOVE the fact that you showed business people that were working with the people in the community to give low income people access which is empowerment. I live outside of DC and we have no free wi-fi here like we did when I lived in New York City. The program to give people free computers upon taking three courses is BaNaNaS!!! How do we get that program here? This was a better news story than my 5 o'clock news channels provide.

This is a good pod, it shows how things like free wi-fi can be easily. The key issue is the education and the training to allow people the chance to actually use the Internet properly.
