I'll bet it's a great installation. The concept is great: 3D cubism, using the tools of the video age. But if Kessler's theme is the "Palace at 4am," ostensibly the King's house when no one is around, then why is the installation so busy? And it's all a rehash of images and feelings I've already seen and felt. As an installation it's probably a completely different experience, since it looks like it commands the space with dimensionality and immediacy.
On this tiny screen it's a case of using the wrong medium to capture an event. It's like what I experienced when I took photographs of a hiking trip I took to Zion, in Utah. There, it's about the scale. You can't capture it. In the arts, it'd be like trying to photograph Mark Rothko's paintings. Impossible. They're too subtle. -
Nice job. Good footage, good editing.

Cool cool. Good work here

I love this piece. 4 am actually happens to be a time when I'm usually up and working, because I need the peace. But the questions this artist raises about the way the media creates for us I think are very pertinent, especially on a site like this! Be "suspicious" of the images, connect "the dots back to what the media is constructing for you" - especially when you yourself are in charge of the images you are uploading. It's like the dragon biting its tail somehow. Hell, stuff like this makes me want to write a book!

It's nice to finally see something that captures how I've been feeling but unable to compile...the thought of adding it all up is too exhausting. Thanks for the outlet. It's incredible and very well done. I hope to catch it in person when back in New York-

Fantastic job with the editing. What an interesting piece. I wish I had seen the exhibit before it closed! Thanks for making this.

I've watched this pod about eight times now. I wish I could've given it a greenlight every time. I would love to know why more people are not voting for this one. Great work. I think it's the best one, of yours, so far. I guess that it's tru when they say art is subjective. I love your piece and can't wait to see more work.

I saw this installation and thought it was awesome. Not an easy installation to capture. You did a great job with the pod, both camera work and editing.

I was lucky to have seen this installation at PS 1 It was awsome! Such a creative endeavor. This comment on our society should be seen by many more people. It is a unique work and I congratulate Jon Kessler for doing such a superb job!

this is great stuff. you should also check out warren's world. just as cool and inspiring.

Again, i love your filmmaking -- but I want more than these shorts - most of these could easily be made into much longer pieces - this really should be 15 minutes or better yet, half an hour. Jon Kessler clearly has a lot to say and you would do well letting him go. I hope with funding you will achieve this.
Best Wishes,
Chris -
Love your style of filmmaking. You have a great eye.

Glad to see this again. Wonderful visual style. The art is well documented.

A very wild look into a part of modern art. Jon's work reminds me of some of the things I see at Chelsea Piers. Excellent coverage on the subject and his artwork. I also love the strange a slow audio in the background...very creepy, futuristic type of track. = GL
When you have a few moments to spare please check out my first uploaded pod based on a young artist who played in the NYC subway, and is now signed to Columbia Records. Check it out <a href=" http://current.tv/watch/53816101.htm">here</..., let me know what you think and if you like it, please green light it.
