  • beautiful images man, that was a killer pod.
"there is no racism there is only ignorance. there is only one race the human race."
so glad to hear someonelse say that, i've been preaching that for as long as i've been aware i was a human
  • The mommies in Brooklyn!?!... cute. I like this pod for showing a side of culture in a world physically near but otherwise distant from the US. Its a well made pod, and I can only guess what it took to get the footage and make the relationships with the subjects, but-
I do wish I heard from someone there in Cuba (other than the rappers) about the rappers. I think they are interesting but I would feel I'm hearing/seeing a more rounded portrait if there were more view points. I liked it but after a while I felt I was watching a well crafted but a little long introduction. Are these guys just starting out? Are they established? Makes me wonder. Greenlight in the hopes more people check you out goodluck with making the pod the best it can be.

  • Brooklyn? Never mind...

Nice overview, great interviews -- you really capture the souls of the artists. I'd like to see subtitles on the performances, but this gets a GL anyway.
  • Hey Ukachi, it's Trev, whaddup kid. Haven't seen you in a bit. What you been up to? Good to see you joined the Current fam. As you can see I am also shooting myself now. All those production days have somehow rubbed off on me. Good piece, I saw it on your site before. Gave you a gl. Talk lata,

    Peace bro

  • The walls and Cuban streets are fantastic. Was curious to learn more on the rappers - they seemed to have a different take on things, and on Castro! Thanks for this. GL.

  • This was very well done and what a great story! I loved the positive messages and the hope that hip-hop brings to these people. I also really enjoyed the still images in the beginning. Thanks for a great pod!
  • Well done. Your editing rocks and so do the characters. This will hit TV for sure...

  • The video looks great. It really stands out from the other pods. (I think you should play more of their music underneath the sound bites.) It is nice to get a glimpse of Cubans since Cuba is a place I am forbidden to go to, because of the differences between our governments. I am amazed that Hip Hop has crossed such a large boundary. Hip Hop is the voice of a trodden down people who rise up and become stronger than their opressors. I agree, WE ARE ONE RACE---ONE LOVE!!! Let's be world citizens like Bob Marley urged us to be.

  • I got the feeling that the interviews were a bit long, but otherwise this video really grabbed my attention.
  • What a delight to see Havana, in all its grittiness.

Let me give you a few honest criticisms on the filmmaking. The opening shots are nice and you've clearly got a lot of access to the local performers. But if this is rap, what are they saying? What is the message? Even in translation the viewer would get a sense of what these guys are trying to say. Is it mysogynist? Is it political? Is it personal? What does it have to say about America?

Also, on the editing, better to not repeat shots.

Thanks for opening up this great window into Havana.

    best of luck,

  • tightin it up... shorten it ..clean up the sound....its a good piece
  • I think this pod is missing something. Yes, I understand their love for hiphop but they don't seem to understand how hip hop came to be and why so many people from different corners of the world are so inspired by it. One of the featured artists first shows the scars on his body for being political and at the end, that same artist thanks Castro for allowing him to freely express his opinions. . . Nevertheless, I think this video shows something new about this island so close geographically yet so far. Good work.

  • This piece has great rhythm, the visual editing from broll to interviewee, the audio editing from song to the sincere voices of the men. I really enjoyed watching. A big heartfelt GL from me.
  • Hi Ukachi. The makings of a great piece are here, but it needs to be tightened up and given a musical beat. Shorten the sound bites and combine them to show that the story of one is the story of all. Give it a rework, and then let's move it to GL status.

Thanks for bringing the story of Cuban rappers to our attention.
  • It helps dispel the myth that Cubans do not have a voice in their own country.
  • despues de ver este parece a mi que la futura de hip hop es en paices como cuba donde no tienen "superproducers" porque este musica es pura. la musica hip hop de america ahora no tiene el fuego que oigo aqui y extrano ese sentimiento.
  • congrats on gettin to air, lemme know what you think of my pod link thanks!
