The director's got a magic dv cam on his hands.

Update - Nothing big, just tightened it up a bit, shaving off a second here and there. Also fixed the sound levels.

  • for the l'oreal commercial, the perhaps there shud be a shot of ur face for a second before there's all the crazy morphing. perhaps before sitting down there could be a straight shot of u sitting in front of the cam since it's an audition. capturing the cam lcd screen and u actually sitting down.
the emptiness sound coming from the mic should be minimized when the camera man is second guessing what he just saw. and lastly the tagline is good, but sth w/ more 'umf' may be considered. like 'my face isn't retaining water is it?'

  • i think the music goes really well with the mega-morphing. kuragari made some good points. i already know what you look like but some random person won't, so maybe a closeup shot of your face just before the morphing starts would be helpful. And maybe at the end, a more quizzical and nervous look on your face would add to the humor. Otherwise, I like it!
  • very cool

  • i like the morphing...that must of taken a long time to do.. at the end, maybe u should look a lil confused (what tasty yello sister said...) since the guy shooting the commercial looked puzzled himself...

  • I really like it.... Nice!

  • cool stuff ad..... the first two times that text actually pops up on the screen describing the product need to be held for about 1 second longer - its a little too fast - otherwise really cool man, great work as usual

  • Nice grabber of a concept, neat execution, good way of getting message across without saying it outright, & tight punchline. I like -- GL.

Side Note: Please check out my latest pod, LLOYD KAUFMAN crosses that line. Thanks!
  • I was a bit confused at first on storyline. Then I saw the description about director having magic dv cam.
  • Thanks for everyone's support and feedback!! I plan to tweak it a bit and try to fix whatever problems there are, especially the sound levels- it's noticeably horrible.
  • I think that this is a great way to introduce L'Oreal beauty products to the male demographic without actually using the word "beauty".
  • I love this! Keep up the good work!
  • Tastyyellow has a natural ability for making interesting videos/commercials.
The male faces flashing in sync with the uptempo music create a contemporary, intriguing vibe. Nice way to sell skin care products to young men. I'm one for the minimalist approach to advertising - this commercial is a good example of "less is more". Great job.

  • innovative and effectively aimed at the target demographic. this is a great example of how simple and creative can easily outshine the flashy, effects-laden pieces. Nice work!
  • Yeah, the music in sync with the flashing people is sweet, and good story btw, i noticed that with the other one. i hear story is important :)

  • tasty yellow.... nice work dude. Very impressed how that one turned out.... although your handle reminds me of winter snow with my old dog.

  • Very funny.
  • HOT! Other then that, I'm speechless.

    Good Luck!!!
  • Great! The lighting during the "commericial" elements really helps make this feel professional. So often the lighting is flat in these VCAMs and you did a good job making the visuals 'pop'.
  • Nice pacing. Good work.
  • Very good sync. Congrats

  • This is very innovative and slick. Well-paced, although I'd like to see a little more focus on the product; as soon as I finished reading the copy, there wasn't enough time to absorb which L'Oreal product is being described. Or maybe I'm just a sloowww reader. GL!
  • I can only imagine the amount of editing involved. Well shot. GL!

  • wow. that's tight.

  • I'd say you did pretty good. I want a magic camera like that.

  • nicely done- I wish the auditions I went on were that simple.
  • Soooo hilarious! Love all the "regular" guys. Great video. Great ad!
  • Really great video. Like the pace.
  • this video is kicking some serious a$s. do you guys have a program at miami ad school that hooks you up with current? that's a great idea, but how does the partnership work? GREENLIGHT.

link i went a different route, but i welcome some comments.

  • Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Euroskip - there isn't a dedicated video program at the school, but we do have video classes. And no, there's no partnership, but we did have a guest speaker from current who visited and gave the students some great tips.

Best of luck to our videos!
  • YES! I sat around with two of my buddies for two hours one night thinking of ideas for this l'Oreal promo. All of them were too metrosexual or weird to execute properly. You managed to make the propuct manly and still write an entertaining ad. great job. GL.
  • Great work, it wasn't just another commercial, it was creative and informative. Has my greenlight.

  • Nice. Very Nice! How many people is that. I stoped counting at 2!

  • very creative yet simple good job!

  • Nice work, very good editing. It's just a couple seconds too long which are easiliy removable at the beginning and at the end. When it will be 30 seconds, it should be aired. GL. Please check my VCAM by clicking this link and give me a feedback. Thanks.
