This 'Style Profile' is a window into the life of my friend Kristin Clark. Kristin is the most original and creative girl i know. Her style is contageous and her personality is potent. See for yourself...

Cool interplay of image and interview, it's fun and just plain great to look at. I'd cut completely, or at least seriously trim, the whole "If I had a million..." segment -- it goes on too long and, for whatever insight it gives us to her personality, takes the focus off her creativity, which is what this piece should be about. But what's left is solid, so GL from me.
Shameless Plug: Please check out my latest video: LLOYD KAUFMAN crosses that line. Thanks!-

I completely agree with Dan about the million montage...Also, the audio on the interview with the von dutch guy needs to come up, otherwise, nice work, GL

Good story but as early said.....shorten the piece.......
OH...Clean your lens the next time, the dirty spots are distracting..... -
I like Kristen, she reminds me a little of Pink. Take out the I like Kristen, she reminds me a little of Pink. Take out the if I had a million segment and I think you will get this pod on TV. GL

solid...

Great editing though I wasn't a fan of the switch to black and white. I like the "million dollar" segment but agree with many others that it's a wee bit long. Nice work!

Kristin Clark is obviously going to be a star... at what ever she chooses to do. And this piece really captures and enhances that. From a production and subject standpoint it is about as far from my side of the coin as you can get but I would love to see another 5:18 of this... and more. A GL from me and if this doesn't make it to TV I'm going back to VH1. Way to go!

life is style...
you ooze it, cuz of this video i'm sure more people are going to be sportin their ties on their heads. ;-) i was digging the last shot w/ the shadow and the spray can...and obviously the bongos are a hit.

I loved it, it kept my attention and made me want a tie on my head. I felt there was some repetition of things, which I understand given her energy and enthusiasm for things. I think that I understood that she wanted to launch her own line the first 2 times she said it; it started to become like a plug or a plea for someone out there to make it happen. Same about the million dollar segment: does she want to be seen as a sellout or a creative genius? I also dont think the "where I work" segment is necessary; it can be confusing since she also works for Von Dutch.
All in all, great pod though - good subject choice for real!

And if you want to see some inspiration for creativity, check out the Swiss artists Muma in my pod HERE: link -
Just want to reiterate that all of the comments below are valid and should be taken into consideration...
GL for funk! -
nice work! im lovin' it bro
-
The style the Pod was done matches the subject very well. Liking it!
I agree with previously made comments, expecially that the million dollar one is a little too long. I like that you're touching subjects outside her work as an artist though. Makes it more interesting! Just not too long. -
I agree with the rest of the coments bro. This is awsome tho. I like the music ;) whooooo is dat der??
Great idea to do this! good luck!

Well...will you send me her phone number?
good editing (nervous), the speech is a litlle bit long, but i liked this pod, GL of course. -
i agree with worldi's comments, but it definately held my attention and the editing was fantastic. you stayed true to your subject as far as style was reflected in the music, the use of text, and the editing. nice.

Fire Motto Motto Fire, Its hot, the editing, effects, the way it was shot wow. I really liked it, this has got to air. Now the girl wow, Kristin you rock!! I'll wear my tie on my head now.

I don't get it. This looks like a fashion product line commercial to me. (shrug) Not my thing I guess, perhaps it's a conflict of journalistic genres in my mind. Technically it's well made, has a high set of production values, contains lots of sizzle but has no steak. It looks good, but the message is lost on me, it reeks of consumerism. If I had a million dollars I'd doubt I'd be flying 1000 people to Fiji to drink bottled water from the source, I can think of a 1000 better uses for that money. I don't wear a tie around my head, but I feel like hanging myself with one after seeing this. Sorry man, I don't get this at all. Good luck to you, but I'm going to continue to speak what I think on topics like this. -zen

Plz,see and try to give GREEN LIGHT -
Title
"Still, I am waiting ..
Synopsis:
This is a story of missing people, boys and men who were picked up by security forces and then simply disappeared. The location is Kashmir. Sandwiched between India and Pakistan, Kashmir is a battleground for both. Since the men are missing, not declared dead their wives are not widows but half widows. -
I liked it. I gave it a greelight. But I think it should be half as long as it is now.
-
I do like the production quality, the interviews and the Human interest but I think you can loose the million dollars segment. Maybe it's just my opinion but it's a pretty shallow way of filling in her story. I think you have a good story to work with but hope you have more footage or questions to work with in the editing room.

What? Why is this being greenlighted? This is a total joke!
The production quality is top notch...but so is BAD BOYS, THE FAST and the FURIOUS and all 100 versions of CSI. Talk about a waste.
If this is the direction Current is going...I mine as well quit now.
If I had a million dollars, I would send Idle Eyes and Kristin Clark to Dafur, Sudan. Once there maybe they could gain an appreciation for human suffering. I know, Kristen could use her painted scarfs as tornaquits to helps the millions of people being shot and tortured. She could pass her shoes out to the children who have never owned a single pair. She could pass out her sunglasses so that people would not have to look directly at the daily carnage and terror.
Come on Current...pull this greenlight and get back to issues and topics that really matter. -
Thank you to all who watched this piece. Your comments and suggestions were right on and I appreciate the honesty. True, it was a bit commercial... but the SneakerPimps contest was about Style and expression and I don't know anyone else on the planet with more flavor than Kristin. We had nothing but fun making this thing and I'm glad it came through on film. Props to SneakerPimps for inspiring this project and even bigger props to Current for leveling the playing field and providing a venue and outlet for short format work like this... love it.
-
oh... and props to the active viewers, critics and appreciators who keep this place alive. thanks again.

Idle Eyes...
I guess that I did not realize this was for some Sneaker Pimp contest. My apologies if I came off to harsh. I still think it is a really shallow piece, especially the whole million dollar thing....but you were tyring to convey a message for a contest.
Best of luck on future projects. -
