Intolerance happens every day, but what makes ordinary people rise above their differences? Even though people are intolerant, we have the tools to get beyond it. Personal and global perspectives offered at a northern California community party help to define intolerance, but also penetrate and shift many rigid beliefs about people who don't get along,

This time capsule on intolerance employs tools like humor, symbolic icons, ironic statements, the beauty of nature, and sincere personal reflection to gently break through many traditional headbutt views of reality. Instead of conjuring fear or inciting adversaries, this story races mind and heart toward a beautiful future. We’re all invited to get the cosmic joke in a world where God is all of us, all the time.

Making this movie caused a community to focus on an important subject, Intolerance. This mirror revealed many commonly held limiting and false beliefs. Men and Women, Toilets, Terrorism, Presidents Religion and Politics, World Peace and War, History and The Future - all these subjects are given a fair shake. But when we add up all our differences, the result is a message seldom found in modern mainstream media - Put your energy into positivity; help people you know. In closing, Gandhi defines "Satyagraha," the determined effort to discover, discern, or apply Truth. That self evident indisputable truth, beyond opinions of tolerance, is a unifying energy which liberates the creative cooperative spirit of human beings. Things now remain as they always were, but our view is brighter and longer.

  • A Sweet Film about a Sour Subject -- A Selected Professional Review
Once Again Sun proves herself to be an fantastic film maker. This one should make people stand up and take notice -- A must for TV! An Opening scene using a backdrop of a Humming Bird, Bees and a Rising Sun, [Pun intended] juxtapose and set-up this short. Once again Sun shows her audience that she has well used her decades of experience with Music Videos, technical subjects and superstars. She tickles and coaxes us with an orginal style that is at once interesting and compelling. Sun's well accomplished Editing in concert with primitive "styled" Glyphs, Overlays and Quotes are all in perfect harmony with the soundbytes. There is a wonderful contrast between the glyphs, the high-technology editing and Sun's low-tec presentation that all blend superbly to reinforce and contrast Sun's backstory --- that her subject matter has been a thorn in our side since the dawn of time. The Story unfolds and tells itself in the people -- The overall effect is simple and effective. What you realize just as the ending credits begin to roll, is that Sun has made her point by making you, part of the story -- It is how you react to the selected characters and their points of view that is the real point of her film, not what is said, painted or left unsaid on the screen... From the ironic title to the bookends of Mark Twain and Lilly Tomlin, Sun's Film, "Sweet Tolerance" is a sure candidate for film festival awards! I want to see more from this Rising Sun!
